Overly Excited Noob!- SleepyHead Data Added

Post by Liam_Smiley » Wed Jun 20, 2018 9:08 am

I was pretty happy to receive a diagnosis of Moderate OSA recently because it explains so many other things that have been going on with me. I did a lot of research and decided on the DreamStation Auto CPAP with DreamWear nasal gel cushions which I received and started using this past week. My first few nights raised some questions and I stumbled upon this site as I searched for answers. My machine was recording some high CA events that I was relieved to attribute to SWJ but my OA and Hypopneas were still keeping my AHI between 9-13. After reading a few threads I decided to make an effort to fall asleep on my side and wouldn't you know; that first night on my side and my CA dropped to 3, OA 1, and hypopnea 14. My sample size is really small at only five nights but last night was my lowest AHI at 2.3... Now that I have a solid sleeping method I'm going to wait a few days to post some SleepyHead data for review. I'm just so excited to have energy again so I can get back to exercising the way I should!

I guess what I'm trying to say is Thank You, all of you for being so active on this forum!

So here is the Sleepy Head Data after my first eight nights. I am posting my worst AHI, last three nights, and the summary of all eight days. Your input on what I should change, if anything, based on this data is greatly appreciated. I'm really amazed at how much better I feel even after such a short period of time.

Ultimately, you want to get them under five or even lower.

However, you're on the right track so keep up the good work.

Now that I have a solid sleeping method
Fine if you can sleep consistently and long term on your sides. If you can't, adjusting your pressure settings may give you excellent therapy in any position.

What are your pressure settings?

Min is set to 4 and Max to 20. My 90% pressure has been between 5.5 (most recent night) and 10.5. My first look at SleepyHead showed pressure peak around 12.5 one night.

You may know that is what is called the "wide open" or manufacturer's default pressure settings. Once you post a chart of a typical night or two, members may be able to help you tweak the settings to improve your therapy. It's usually good to do that in this same thread, so that members can see your history.

Welcome!
