SoClean 2: Am I a sucker??

Post by Jeff_Snore_No_More » Thu Jun 21, 2018 12:01 pm

I picked up my new PR DreamStation Auto BiPAP machine today at the healthcare equipment company, and the lady told me about the SoClean 2. I had heard of it and looked at it online, but I didn't know much about it otherwise. She told me that it's worth every cent, and that her clients consistently tell her how beneficial it is. They get less colds, sinus infections, sore throats, etc. Plus she says that I'll only have to clean my mask with soap and water weekly instead of the recommended daily. And, "If you buy it today, 10% off." So I say, "Sold." My wife will "murdelize" me, but you know what they say: "It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission." In my case, I'm dead meat either way! So have I been taken to the proverbial cleaners?

I would say so, except for the fact So clean machines have never Cleaned Anything except the dirty money you used to have in your billfold. BTW unless you are a germaphobe, also remember they are your germs and you have millions left in your body breeding. Jim

Please Do NOT Eat Tide Pods, to clean out the remaining Germs.

Yes, you're a sucker.

You don't have to be gullible--just vulnerable, which is when the cheetah snatches the baby gazelle.
I wonder how big her COMMISSION was.
They definitely "should" take it back if returned right away.
Good luck.

They get less colds, sinus infections, sore throats, etc.
If this is true, it's because her patients started using CPAP. Many people, myself included, get fewer respiratory infections once they start using CPAP.

I would take it back for a full refund.

Yeah, when I started cpap, I went from having two or three sinus infections every year to maybe one every two...

And I just clean things when the look like they need it, never wash the hose, etc. I think it's the filtered air, and the fact that I sleep a hell of a lot better now, so my immune system gets a fighting chance.

Customarily, the gullible are considered fair game for whatever scam comes up;
and the law does nothing.
But finally it is becoming obvious that preying on the very young, elderly or ill is wrong-
--because they are VULNERABLE--not deserving of mistreatment..
Therefore, our laws should be expected to protect them.

Jeff Snore No More,

If you are immune compromised, the SoClean 2 may help with the daily process of warding off infections.

If dogs, cats, guinea pigs, goats, and grandchildren spend time licking your mask everyday, it may be justified...

If your immune system is OK, it is not called for.

Think--- if the device actually worked, there would be guidelines for when insurance would be REQUIRED to cover it.

I did buy the SoClean, but thought very hard about it due to the price! However, I am immunosuppressed and get chronic infections which end up with me in icu/isolation. I have medical ties and they were in favor for my specific case. I don’t think the average joe would really need one, but I have close to no flipping immune system and if it helps me even a little bit stay out of isolation then I’m sure it’s worth every penny. If not, then hey I tried. I do still plan on washing the supplies though. I’ve read a lot of people don’t get the difference there...

Ummm... I appreciate your comments. I really do. But it 's unfair to say that if it worked, it would be covered. Preventative tests? Not required to be covered. Please don't say preventative tests don't work.

No manufacturer suggests using it.

So don't.

I think the salesperson took advantage of you. And probably made a nice commission doing it. Shame on them. Are you new to cpap? Most of us do just fine with soap and water for cleaning. I doubt they can prove any of the claims they make about you not getting more sicknesses using the so clean.

The salesperson spoke about killing germs and all that stuff. But she also said that it wouldn't be necessary to wash the mask every day, but rather once a week. This appealed to me, because I'm lazy. I do understand that the SoClean would not clean the skin oil and so forth. I've been on BiPAP for about 11 years.

At any rate, I'm returning it.
