Re: DramStation Noise Levels
My treatment to date had been going well, but over the last few days, my CPAP machine has been much noisier than usual. ... The first question is, do you use a humidifier? The water tank acts like a large muffler, and without that it will be noisy. There are several add-on mufflers, including a new...

Re: Camping with a CPAP
I have a ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP. I'm planning a 7 day tent camping trip with no power available. Anyone have any ideas how to either provide portable power or other alternatives? The above mentioned DC supply, or the Resmed version ($90 but known quality and high efficiency) is essential to runnin...

Re: Choosing a Battery
Above where he says the battery will be 5% higher or 12.6 V at 70% charge he says: 'Checking the terminal voltage of a lead acid battery – a fully charged 12 Volt battery can display an actual voltage up to 10% higher.' Or 13.2 at 100% so for whatever reason I am not getting that. Freshly charged b...

While 50% gets twice the cycles, each cycle is half the power ? 70% is much much be...

Using an inverter? I was wondering what I could use and stumbled on this: https://www.subaruforester.org/threads/cigarette-lighter-after-ceramic-heater-fiasco.65840/ ' . . .And especially with inverters, do the math. They're usually specified in Watts of output. Double that for starters to account ...

Re: Thoughts about the future of wide open 4–20 setting/detecting optimal APAP pressure
If you actually had any *experience* with more than one brand of machine, then your opinion about which machine was better might be worth considering. There you go with your lack of understanding - I never said one machine was better that another. I merely suggested that the different properties mi...

Re: Thoughts about the future of wide open 4–20 setting/detecting optimal APAP pressure
Hah! Too Funny, you actually took the bait and had to try to prove your AHI is lower than mine! What a putz, you've been pwned!! Perhaps you should stick to things you're competent at, like designing battery backup systems, and leave the lame attempts at insults to people that don't actually have an...

... This study, funded by ResMed, simulates the response of various machines. I appreciate that both of you believe the ResMed algorithm is superior, but perhaps many of the folks with leak problems are victims of an over aggressive response. Please point out where in that study there's a conclusio...

Actually its well established that the ResMed algorithm overshoots the needed pressure by a wide margin. "well established", please document your allegation. I am wondering where you got this idea that ResMed overshoots anything. Sorry - I thought you knew this: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/art...

Re: Thoughts about the future of wide open 4–20 setting/detecting optimal APAP pressure
It’s still a mystery to me why my AirSense 10 gives me a much higher pressure than what is needed in order to treat my apneas and hypopneas if I set the maximum pressure to 20. I wonder if other machines would react in a similar way. Because it treats more than apneas and hyponeas in auto mode....s...

... I've been thinking if they really turn our electricity off for days I'll have to go stay in a motel in another town to use my cpap and computer. Re: Trekking with Z1 APAP at high altitude 7 nights on battery $875, 5.85 pounds
I just spent two weeks on a tidal island in Maine with no electricity. The island is accessible by 4WD at low tide; we hired someone to carry us onto the island, so no chance to recharge batteries on the island. Although less weight would be better, it is not as necessary as for backpacking. I used...

Re: Does your electric company give you a discount or allow CPAP users to be on the priority restore list?
Thanks for your reply CapnLoki. I will look into your thread about batteries. So far, my Freeedom li-ion batteries are going strong. They are one-year old now and I have used them for 120 nights or so. They show no sign of failure or wear. Have you actually cycled them 120 times, or are the connect...
