Just wanted to say thanks to this board, I've finally got my Airmini working at a reasonable noise level. Like many of you, I was deeply frustrated by the 'darth vader' noise that came from the AirMini mask. The unit is actually very quiet but the air rushing sound, right near my face was horrible. I bothered both me and my wife. Falling asleep was not an option.

I bought the tube converter from ThingVerse (there is a premade one on amazon but untested). I also got the QTube and I can attach my existing AirSense 10 mask to it with a bit of tape. The combination of of the QTube + AIrSense 10 mask makes a large difference. It's still noisier but much better and I can sleep with it now. To be honest, I'd say 75% is just the AirSense 10 mask and the QTube is just a 25% improvement.

I hope we can all continue to tinker with this and make improvements. If anything changes on my end, I'll be sure to post any updates.
So 4 years later and a LOT of trial and error and, if I'm honest, I'm still frustrated with this machine. But I have made a few improvements I thought I'd share:
* I use mouth tape so I don't need a humidifier. This was a game changer and really made the most difference. I totally understand that many won't be able to do it. Just give it a try, it makes EVERYTHING much simpler.
* I added a SECOND muffler. I know, silly right? But by having a QTube and a Transcend WhisperSoft Muffler Kit it just knocks that much extra noise from the system.
* So things can fit in my travel case, I changed my 6' hose to a 4' hose (doesn't help with the noise, just makes a bit more room)

Note 1: I'm using the hose adaptor and using larger19mm hoses which also help a bit (more air flow == less turbulence)
Note 2: There is now a USB-C power adapter (search airmini usb c on amazon) so you can use a standard power supply (or battery if you're camping) So much more civilized.

Honestly, going to this much trouble is silly. I'm convinced that ResMed is a totally evil company and I'm hopeful that when I eventually replace this device, there will be something much better.
