Re: CPAP use and CANCER (long term use of Philips System One)

I’ve been dealing with mesothelioma, which also makes me sensitive to these types of issues. I used a CPAP machine for a while and can relate to your frustration. It’s infuriating to think that something meant to help us might actually be causing harm. Your concern about the foam in the CPAP machine...

Re: Smoker? Don't smoke around your CPAP!

Smoking around your CPAP is a bad idea. I recently got a used CPAP from a smoker, and the state of it was shocking. The machine was yellowed with nicotine stains, and the smell was unbearable. It took much scrubbing with alcohol and dish soap to clean it, but it wasn't perfect. The device had a blow...

Re: Back Pain is.. Back! Really frustrated!

A few years back, I started having back pain too and used ibuprofen to help, but it only worked for a little while. When the pain came back, I knew I needed a better solution. That's when I thought about trying physiotherapy. About six months ago, I decided to see a physiotherapist named Humna Aziz....

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

Yes I do expect that, especially since its under warrantee. Secondly because my life depends on it. You must still believe in Santa Claus if you believe Philips is going to replace everyone's machine with another manufacturer. It would still take a upwards of a year for another manufacturer to make...

Re: Sticky: Phillips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread

I registered my dreamstation ASV today online and my DME said they will be he ones that handle Philips. I told them I dont want anything Philips after all this which they understood. Its astonishing how it feels to become reliant upon something and how it feels to be told to immediately stop using ...

Re: First month on new ASV

Hmm, ok, gotcha. Ive been on ASV since November, I was told Id have to use a full face mask for ASV because theres no way to control your mouth opening while you sleep Well....people control the mouth opening with ASV the same way they control it with cpap/apap. That's an old wives tale you were tol...

Re: First month on new ASV

Ive been on ASV since November, I was told Id have to use a full face mask for ASV because theres no way to control your mouth opening while you sleep, and I do as a matter of fact. My numbers got from .46 up to 4 and never have really gotten stable, but are less than 5. Id rather they were less but...

Hypopneas

Question: Ive been on ASV for just over a month now, my Central are zero, obstructives reduced to 1 or none most nights, but hypopneas average between 15-20 a night, sometimes to over 30. I recently changed my Setting to: PS to min-5, max 15 Epap to minimum 7, MAX 25 I didn't see an IPAP choice. (Mu...

Re: Doctor Closing his doors for good.

This doctor was the same one who examined my heart, hes a really good Dr. Its a win/win for me because not only can he monitor everything but keep an eye on my heart too. This is the office I visited when I was having breathing problems and heart racing going on. Plus hes a lot closer and very hands...

Aside from my Primary Care Doc, I haven't used a "sleep doctor" in 10 years
I wouldn't worry about it except I just started ASV treatment and it hasn't stabilized yet (still high hypopneas, centrals/obstructives have dropped to zero) and I have to watch my heart through all this.

Odd. A competitor of our refuse company had sent out letters to their customers,
stating that they had been closed and offering to " help".
Piracy, pure and simple.
Make sure that is not the case.
Thanks, will verify
