My Phillips System 1
My Phillips System 1
For years my Phillips System 1 Respironics CPAP machine sat unused until I finally found a mask comfortable enough for me to use with it. After only six months an alarm started going on telling me it needed service or repair. But now Philips says it has no parts or service for System 1. I don’t want to fork out more money for the new system. Does anyone know of anyone who can fix my existing machine?
Re: My Phillips System 1
welcome to the zoo! there will probably be folk along shortly to caution you against repair of such an old machine, so i won't mention it.dgodkin wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 12:00 pmFor years my Phillips System 1 Respironics CPAP machine sat unused until I finally found a mask comfortable enough for me to use with it. How many run hours does the machine have? How long has it sat unused? Since that period of disuse, are you saying you've been using it for six months straight, or that you started up again after six months and suddenly it's broken? If you started CPAP within the last year and you were sold a new System One, it's unfortunate because the model has been discontinued years ago. If you were gifted a used System One, well... again, it's a discontinued model.
If your health insurance or DME doesn't have compliance data, they may be less inclined to honor a contract for machine that's broken but has been sitting for months/years unused, even with low run-hours. You may either have to send it to a repair facility, such as Zonker has suggested, or buy a new one or a gently used one. There are low-cost options. I hope you find one that works for you.

Re: My Phillips System 1
If the "years" sitting around is accurate, then its long past warranty so ACBIO is the only possibility (as suggested). Give them a call to see if they think they might be able to service the machine.dgodkin wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 12:00 pmFor years my Phillips System 1 Respironics CPAP machine sat unused until I finally found a mask comfortable enough for me to use with it. What error code displays on the screen?
If you turn it off, wait a minute, then turn it back on - what happens?
