Re: Effect of CPAP therapy on respiratory patterns

1 There is a graph in the text from VAUTO, PS was set to 5.4. As you can see it did not make much difference. 2. I have a "RAW DATA" from the polysomnograph but no longer have the data from the memory card to compare this data in the OSCAR. :( I just made a print screen with statistics. I can show y...

Effect of CPAP therapy on respiratory patterns

I am the author of a blog about CPAP from Poland. I'm still learning and sometimes I try to write articles on topics that are on the verge of my expertise. This time I was interested in how CPAP of various manufacturers affects the way we breathe. There is (probably) no literature on this subject, s...

The new Philips DreamWisp nasal mask

I don't see a thread in the forum about this mask? How is that even possible? :) I think it's one of the most interesting masks. I know that many people were waiting for a mask that combines a classic nasal pillow and a connector on top of their head (they had problems with tightness and stability o...

Re: Effectiveness test of CPAP auto adjusting algorithms for 6 popular machines

You're forgetting one important thing. Not all automatic devices detect respiratory episodes well (and they can't even do it because there's too little data). This is very visible in my study. You can't see all the hypopneas, you don't know which are the central ones. It is not known at what stage o...

Effectiveness test of CPAP auto adjusting algorithms for 6 popular machines

I invite you to read my last test. It cost me a lot of work. A dozen or so nights I slept with a polysomnography to test different machines. I hope you like it!

Re: Precision, pressure stability and pump performance test on 10 popular CPAP devices

Nice work! Do you know why the high-quality full-sized machines all output 14.65 instead of 15 and 19.55 instead of 20? Could this be systematic measurement error? maybe… each CPAP has a 0.4 to 1 cm possible error according to the specifications (ResMed and Philips 0.5 cm H2O) the measuring device ...

Precision, pressure stability and pump performance test on 10 popular CPAP devices

I translated my last test for you. I think it's worth it. Are you sure that your machine works well with a high leak? What leaks are acceptable? Are the Chinese machines as good as the leading manufacturers? Which CPAP is the best having regard to those criteria? https://www.cpapblog.pl/2019/05/prec...

If you want me to run it through my ResScan and check it out I can do that for you but I need a full complete copy of your zipped SD card to do it. Can't be bits and pieces...ResScan makes me recreate an exact copy on a SD card before it will import.
thank you- I sent PM

Re: Overnight Oximetry Study

I don't know if OSCAR shows artifacts but the SPO2 software does. See the sample reports here. Very many artifacts could account for the high number of "events"....loss of contact artifact. http://www.pulseoxstore.com/content/sample-reports I use a pulse oximeter from ResMed (plugged into CPAP) - I...

Re: Overnight Oximetry Study

That looks very good to me and normal or better. Sleeping - anything above 88% is pretty good and a lot of the spikes are probably junk as Pugsy suggest. You could also compare the heart rate to it and see if the rate increases as the O2 decreases. Fortunately, I also do not see anything wrong ther...

Overnight Oximetry Study

Hello again. :) I decided to test the pulse oximeter. I imported the data to Oscar and interpreted it for the first time. I did my homework and read the theory. I know that you should measure time equal to or below 88 or 89%. I know the definitions of the desaturation event and related indicators. I...
