Re: What are ideal oximeter numbers?
Thanks for all of the responses. Actually, the goal is to get below 2.. there is no "ideal", and chasing zero is an exercise in futility due to the diminishing returns that it offers. IMHO, 0 AHI is ideal. But we don't live in an ideal world, and perfect is the enemy of good. So if I'm getting AHI 2...

Re: What are ideal oximeter numbers?
Ok, so how do people here use oximeters?
ETA: I know with Cpap, the goal is to get AHI below 5, ideal would be 0.

Re: What are ideal oximeter numbers?
Thanks for the response Jas. Trying to fine-tune a bit beyond that.
I'm attaching a recent screenshot. Wondering what ideal numbers would be.

What are ideal oximeter numbers?
What would you consider the ideal pulse rate and sp02 numbers, in relation to OSA?
I'm using Oscar software with CMS50 oximeter. I know that there are limits to the accuracy and value of using this, but interested in getting a frame of reference of numbers to aim for.

Oximeter - SleepyHead event question
I wore my Contec oximeter last night, with TAP 3 MAD (no CPAP). Looking at the results in SleepyHead today, there's an extreme spike. I'm wondering if it's from an event when I stopped breathing, or an anomaly, like oximeter cable coming loose or something. Anyone have any thoughts? Screenshot below.

Resmed: interchangeable straps/headgear?
I've been using the Resmed FX Mirage mask, but due to extreme dry mouth, I'm giving full masks a try. I just found a Resmed Quattro Air F10 mask on ebay that I ordered, but it does not come with headgear. Anyone know if the Mirage FX headgear will fit? Also, curious to hear any advice about full fac...

Re: Mirage FX mask leaks
Are you sure that it's not the exhaust holes that are venting the CO2 ? I think so; but not positive. The leaks sound louder to me than the exhaust...plus I'm getting large leaks in SleepyHead reports. If venting the C02, would that only be during exhale? I'll try feeling with my fingers where the ...

Mirage FX mask leaks
I'm using a Resmed Mirage FX mask with S9 Autoset. I can hear and feel leaks that seem to be coming from where the elbow connects to the cushion. I've made sure the straps are tight so there are no leaks between cushion and my face. All the parts are newish, the hose, cushion, elbow, headgear. Also ...

Study: overnight oximetry vs polysomnography for diagnosis
I searched the forum but didn't find anything; has this study been discussed? Background Polysomnography (PSG) is treated as the gold standard for diagnosing obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). However, it is labor-intensive, time-consuming, and expensive. This study evaluates validity of overnight pulse...
