How therapeutic is 4cm/min. cpap pressure?

Post by arthuref » Fri Sep 20, 2019 10:59 am

I'm using my APAP at minimum (4cm) pressure to get a rough idea of how well my oral appliance (MAD) is working, and to find best adjustment setting for MAD. (My insurance won't cover a sleep study for MAD).

I'm guessing 4cm pressure could very well be helping with the OSA, right (ie, it's not so low that it couldn't help breathing)? With MAD, with CPAP at 4cm, I'm getting AHI around 4. Is there any way to estimate what that AHI would be without any CPAP pressure?

Without MAD, my CPAP settings were min 7, max 14, with 95% pressure around 13.

Or anyone known of any home tests that can measure effectiveness of MAD?

4 cm barely brings enough air for me to breathe.
I doubt I could even sleep.
Go for the home study.

Any specific ones you'd recommend?

4 cm is comfortable for me, and with the MAD I'm getting under 5 AHI. But I would like to try a home study if I can find a good one.

That Apnealink device looks like it would do the trick, I'll try to test with that, thanks.
