Re: I'm newbie and I have decided to go on my own

Today my doc prescribed the AirSense 11 and I don't have a choice, but it sounds like a good choice based on your research. AirSense 11 is a product series. There are three models in that series. If you are not getting the AutoSet model, you are screwed. I am. It will be set for 5-15, they tell me....

Re: I'm newbie and I have decided to go on my own

To add to Pugsy's recommendation, cpap.com is a great place to look at masks. They have photos, specs, ratings and customer reviews. I read through all the post before deciding which machine to get. You are a rare gem. :) Super happy to see this! Today my doc prescribed the AirSense 11 and I don't ...

Re: Fighting air leaks from under the mask Life hack

My Tap Pap was blowing air (not leaks, the normal vents) that dried out my eyes. In the middle of the night my eyes would be stuck shut! So I made a ledge out of masking tape on the tube, just above the vents, that diverted the vent air so it would go down instead of up. It helps. Leaks, there are s...

Re: Question for TapPap users

The TapPap is a favorite of mine. After several years of use my dentist commented on matching spots on both sides of my gums with tissue damage. Advised me to not wear the mask and see if they cleared up, and if not to see an oral pathologist. One side cleared up, the other didn't. Glad this subjec...

Re: diagnosed with sleep apnea, need some advice

My night at the sleep study "hotel" was just like yours. Pretty much the worst night of my life without someone dying. I slept two hours. The score came out 30, Moderate/Severe. Fast forward about 12 years and I'm just fine with the machine keeping my airway open every single night of those years. I...

Re: Awesome first night with AirFit N30i

One downside, if I sleep past 6 AM I have to wear an eye mask to block light. The eye mask does not do well with the N30i. blackout curtains? I have them. However, a small amount of daylight leaks around the edges. I've decided I want to keep that because I do prefer to wake up naturally rather tha...

Re: Awesome first night with AirFit N30i

Thanks Pugsy and all for great advice. I just ordered the N30, and also a new cradle cushion for the N30i, because it would have the diffuser, which my current one doesn't. My orthodontist really wants me to find a mask that doesn't move my teeth/jaw if possible, though I feel like the N30i is still...

Re: Itchy nose with CPAP

If your nose itches... scratch it.... I used to use a pencil, but I found slipping a popsicle stick under the mask and itching works... Sheriff OK I have to tell this horrible story, since you mentioned scratching an itch with a pencil. Anyone remember the classic Bic pen with the removable plastic...

Re: They laughed at my machine

Is this the place you were looking at pics? Should be a place to put in the serial # of your device to register it if it is part of the recall. Just be sure you are not using the serial # of the humidifier. https://www.usa.philips.com/healthcare/e/sleep/communications/src-update I read all their in...

Re: They laughed at my machine

Amazing that they expect us to look at the back and see a small 450P and conclude that it means "50 series." I'm looking at my husband's System One that he barely used. It says 560P on the back. I guess that magically becomes 60 series. Also their photos of the machines are minuscule, even on my gi...

Re: They laughed at my machine

Any model number with "50" in it...250, 450, 550, 650, 750, 950 etc makes it a "50 series" System One and any model number with "60" in it...260, 460, 560, 660, 760, 960 etc makes it a "60" series System One Interesting information that would have been nice to hear from Philips at the time. Also th...

Re: They laughed at my machine

Thanks for checking again. Like I said...all the System One models were included in the recall but perhaps your particular serial number fell through the cracks at the beginning of this whole mess. To be honest I doubt it is going to hurt you after all this time but then again I am OCD about some t...

Re: They laughed at my machine

No, it's not one of the serial numbers that was recalled. Are you absolutely certain it wasn't on the recall list? My understanding it was all machines after the M series and your 450 is definitely after the M series models. Both the 50 series and 60 series were included in the recall ....all model...

Re: Is the N30 nasal cradle different from P10 pillows?

Thanks folks for the cradle info. Since I posted, I am now the proud owner of a new N30 cradle!! Went to a sleep doc appt today and they had a free sample, so I'll try it tonight. Thrilled with how soft the cradle feels, hope it works out. Correction, it's N30i, though apparently with the wrong ven...
