Notice they will pay your claim, but if you've used So-Clean they would like your claim against that company assigned to them. The litigation continues.

And it does not appear to be a release of any future liability either; that's kind a requirement for me to participate.

Economic Loss claims sure. However this is what I'm talking about:

https://www.respironicscpap-elsettlemen ... anguage=en
"The Settlement does not affect or release any claims for personal injuries or medical monitoring relief."

https://www.respironicscpap-elsettlement.com/faqs
FAQ #19:
Unless you timely exclude yourself from the Settlement Class with a valid opt-out request (see Questions 27-30), your Economic Loss Claims will be released, and you cannot sue, continue to sue, or be part of any other lawsuit against the Philips Defendants or the other Released Parties seeking to recover for Economic Loss Claims. Any such Economic Loss Claims by you will be barred whether or not you complete the steps necessary to receive a payment under the proposed Settlement. You may, however, pursue claims for personal injury or medical monitoring; those claims are not released by this proposed Settlement. ...

Considering how easily some people spend ridiculous money on electronics,
designer crap, and status trophies; why is it so hard to move HEALTH a little
higher on the list of priorities?
SMH.
I'm not following you here.

Who are you talking about that's spending all this ridiculous money on electronics and 'status trophies' but not on their health?

Priorities affect our PERCEPTION of reasonable prices.
Duh!
Spend less on crap--the things we NEED can be more reachable.

Duh is right.

Reasonable prices are reasonable prices. The only thing that determines if the prices are reasonable is your ability to afford whatever it is.

I didn't see anyone in this thread talking about spending money on electronics and 'status trophies' and not spending money on their health. That's what I'm asking about, where did this come from?

Some of us can afford 'status trophies' and spending money on our health. Some of us don't care about 'status trophies', aka 'keeping up with the Jones's.

I just got off the phone with the HOTLINE.

I wanted to check on the status of my awards since the website is supposed to be able to supply that information and it's not.

They're telling me that the website is having issues. Imagine that.

I have two CPAP machines affected by the recall. I returned the System One 60 for the $50 and got the Dreamstation replaced. I was able to easily file my claim online for the Dreamstation.

I bought a Resmed out of pocket so I tried to file the form for the reimbursement for buying another CPAP, but the form won't let me submit it. I have not tried again yet.

Keep trying.
No doubt they are reluctant to reimburse for a different machine,
but the existence of a form means " something". :?
Be persistent and document all your efforts, with time/date, etc.

I got paper notices about the proposed settlement and am trying to sign up for the payments.

I never returned either recalled machine for the paltry $25 they had offered; I disposed of both machines so that no one would unknowingly start using them.

Under this settlement, I still qualify for a "device payment award" for each machine.

To get this payment, I am required to provide my "Claim ID" and "Confirmation Code." As a hint to others: the confirmation code they want here is NOT the "confirmation number" that was assigned by Philips when you originally filed for the recall. Apparently what they're looking for here are two new codes that are printed on the outside of the latest envelope containing the settlement materials.

Regrettably, when I enter those codes, they say I'm not eligible, al though according to the settlement materials, I'm clearly eligible for this payment.

Possible problem? The form says: "Please remember to enter the full Claim ID exactly as it appears on your personalized Notice, (i.e. 12345678)." But my Claim ID has four letters before the digits...

For those who don't have both a "Claim ID" and "Confirmation Code" for each device, the settlement offers a second choice -- to "login by entering your Philips Registration Number." Does anyone have an idea about what "registration number" they might be looking for? Clearly it's different from the original "Confirmation Number" and new "Confirmation Code" or "Claim ID"; probably different than the model or serial number on each device. Does anyone have ideas on what number to enter here???

So, what kind of odds do we give the liklihood that philips has their own
stable of ambulance chasing lawyers, giving the illusion of a "settlement"?
(But with nearly all the revenue dropping into philips' pockets.)

As a result of your reply to my post, I started calling and emailing Philips and received the replacement CPAP ASV today.
