Re: The weeks numbers... thoughts or suggestions?

It was me. It worked this time.

OMG I am so green with envy. My leak line looks like a zipper in places. Congrats on the good report. Wouldn't you know it? I have no problem with mask or air blowing up my nose but I have this leak issue to sort through.

Re: The weeks numbers... thoughts or suggestions?

I don't want to sound like I am bragging too much, but I am happy! The link below is my report for last night. oops, I get a page not found on your link. It is me or the link? I am so happy for you and green with envy. I just got the software installed and looked at my daily stats. The daily averag...

Re: Clarification on gettin Rx written the way I want

I have not seen the doctor for follow up but I did speak with his nurse early last week prior to the titration study. She told me he wouldn't write for auto unit unless he felt like I needed it. He would write for brand and model of choice though. So I have not seen how he actually worded his prescr...

Re: Clarification on gettin Rx written the way I want

The ResMed 8 Elite is a CPAP only. No Auto features. You can view leakage, AI, Hi and AHI easily on the LCD screen. If you are wanting auto capabilities you might look at Resmed's Autoset. If you aren't planning on getting the software this machine will at least give you the break down where the AHI...

Re: The weeks numbers... thoughts or suggestions?

Don't need one. I have Pugsy I will change it to Standard tonight and see if that changes the rate of leakage... Just because of yawning, tossing and turning, I just do not think a 0 is ever gonna happen. I can do Math if I have the right formula to start with. If not, I am screwed just like everyo...

Re: The weeks numbers... thoughts or suggestions?

Too bad you don't have a ResMed mask......you could just put the type of mask you have, into the machine, and it would calculate everything out without having to use a calculator and slide rule. The same thought passed through my mind but he would still have to know how to figure what L/s is accept...

Re: The weeks numbers... thoughts or suggestions?

If this were me I would change the mask setting to standard. I read yesterday that ResMed allows 24 L/min deduction for it. So then you have a standard rate to go by. Then watch your data. Multiply the L/s reading you get by 60 to get a L/min rate which is what masks are rated at. Add back in the 24...

http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=41785&p=367329&hilit=HI+results+in+half#p367329 When you have time take a look at Rested Gal's comments about HI's reported by ResMed machines. That should explain how to then view your AHI's in a little different perspective. I am too new to comment on u...

Re: The weeks numbers... thoughts or suggestions?

I have a pdf of Respironics mask leak rates. For 10 cm of pressure 23 L/min is the intentional(for Optilife). Your 9 cm treatment pressure would equate to just slightly less but this gives you a ball park. Hard to say what your leak numbers mean because they are in L/s and we don't know which mask i...

Re: The weeks numbers... thoughts or suggestions?

check this link to see if it looks like the mask and head gear you are using. https://www.cpap.com/productpage/OptiLife-Nasal-Pillow-CPAP-Mask.html Sounds like what I came home from the sleep study with. I think with ResMed mask selection settings they suggest to select standard for other brands not...

Re: Ready to order xpap -- please advise

Hi and welcome, There is a lot of information to digest isn't there? I am new also and still learning. Every day it seems like another piece of the puzzle falls into place. If your Dr will give you an Auto CPAP (APAP) then by all means go for it. You will have 2 machines in one because they also hav...

Re: Pressure differences between back and side sleeping

I have been sleeping in the Falcon position for years and didn't know it. I found it by accident trying to sleep on my stomach after having multiple pelvic fractures and a broken back. I may not stay in that position all night but I usually start there. It does help relieve the pain from the arthrit...

Re: Very sore neck! - Rebumped because of new issue!

I would suggest make the appointment and talk to your doctor if you can't achieve some relief. Try to correlate time you started using this mask with when the symptoms started. Did they come together? Have you tried loosening the strap that goes around the base of the skull just a bit? I cannot tole...
