Re: Elderly mom, balky, and her Luna machine

So a lot of developments here. After I got my Airsense 10, I visited with my mom and pushed through the purchase of an airsense 10. It was set up with her scrip by cpapdirect.com. Her pressure is set to auto set between 9 and 20. EPR full time 3cmH2O. Her mask is a ResMed N30i. She’s not getting any...

Re: Newly diagnosed — Respironics vs airsense

OK, night one with my first cpap, the airsense 10, autoset. Woke up with over 8 hours of sleep and 1.1 events per hour. Success. My only problem was a bit of mouth dryness in the night. The humidity is “auto” but I guess I need to bump it up a bit for my mouth breathing style. I think I feel a littl...

Re: Newly diagnosed — Respironics vs airsense

Got the Resmed Airsense 10 today, auto set and heated tube and all. From the little bit I tried it, it seems quite comfortable. Pressure is set to range between 5 and 20.; Turns out I had 21 events per hour in the night of my at home sleep test — more than I would have guessed. Psyched to use this.

Re: Elderly mom, balky, and her Luna machine

Thank you. I don’t have a copy of her test, but maybe I can get a redacted copy from my sister. In answer to your question about aging mentally, she declined rather suddenly late last summer/fall after some medication glitches. That was when we looked to sleep apnea as a cause, after I noticed the q...

Elderly mom, balky, and her Luna machine

Yesterday I posted about my own upcoming CPAP onboarding (I think I get it next Tuesday, and I’ll go for the Airsense). Now about my mom. My elderly mom got her CPAP last winter, maybe January or February, after a long wait to get the sleep study and then another long wait to get the machine. She ve...

Re: Newly diagnosed — Respironics vs airsense

Thank you very much! I’m so glad I found this forum. Airsense it is. Now I think I might try to move my elderly mom to the Airsense. She was given a Luna unit. Her equipment provider has not been very good at setup etc. Mom fights the machine. After I guess 8 months now she is more likely to pull th...

Newly diagnosed — Respironics vs airsense

I knew I had sleep apnea because my wife, who has been on CPAP for 10 years or so, has had to roll me over to get me breathing again for the last 9 months or so. Took a while to get the study! Results of the home study: a letter with a lot of boilerplate about sleep apnea and an introductory paragra...
