Re: A question to those who have successfully mouthtaped

The cover roll tape works for me but takes a layer off my skin when removing in the morning. Does anyone have suggestions for making removal less painful? Thanks to all. Wet it with warm water. warm water works well, but I found that a good smear of shaving cream for sensitive skin directly over th...

Re: Side Cover Cleaning for AS10 and AS11?

Palerider -Many thanks for the tips. I do sometimes have to vary humidity as I live in Florida where the weather changes sometimes every 15 minutes. Having a quiet machine has never been a priority for me. When I take off my hearing aids, I could sleep thru a hurricane and I have    T...

Re: Side Cover Cleaning for AS10 and AS11?

I don't have sidecovers on my ResMed. But, I believe the foam you're talking about is for sound abatement, and not filters. There really is no need to wash the side-cover, and I don't thing washing it with water is a problem. I would dry it as thoroughly as possible, and then run it for a bit to bl...

Side Cover Cleaning for AS10 and AS11?

Hi, This is the son of cpapmoma1 (she has some difficulty typing). She has been managing her cpap equipment/settings for about 10 years with help from this forum. She bought side covers for her AS10 and AS11 machines and washed them with soapy water not realizing there were foam filters inside. I ma...

Re: COVID 19, CPAP, Ventilator MEGA THREAD...everything go here please

Saw an article about using cpaps as ventilators. Seems someone saw a need and might fill it :D I am not sure if it is allowed, but the info can be found at AES Controls.com My posts have been few and far between as my 84 yrs of living now dictates that most of my time be spent on maintenance of home...

Re: understanding oscar data

Hey Pugsy So sorry to hear you have that horrible BPPV problem. Physical therapy cleared my vertigo in short order. The Epley treatment was a miracle for me. Two sessions with coaching and instructions did the trick. Hope you find something that works for you. Take good care of yourself- you certain...

Re: OT: who says CPAP doesn't prepare you for things in life????

I also did the reverse and learned to dive several decades pre-cpap Diving became my passion and the cpap my life necessity. Loved one and learned to happily tolerate the other :D Hope you both enjoy and appreciate sharing that amazing underwater world. Keep doing both and you will be a happy man :!...

Re: Low pressure nasal pillows just feels so much higher pressure than high pressure full face.

[It was probably about 6 yrs into my therapy that the swelling happened. The new mask I was trying had a hard plastic section at the front ( I don't recall which one it was). When I slept on my side as usual, the hard edge pressed into my cheek. Then began discomfort and pain in the cheek next to my...

Re: Low pressure nasal pillows just feels so much higher pressure than high pressure full face.

Welcome. I've had experience with the facial swelling you are dealing with. Kept thinking It would resolve itself- or just stubborn. Using it for too long caused nerve damage on my face and a long, painful recovery. Try the softest, most pliable mask you can find. The cloth mask worked well, but was...

Re: Question to those who have had successful rhinoseptoplasty

My septoplasty was done 28 yrs ago. ( Has to be even better surgery outcomes now!) Before surgery one side of my nose was almost always blocked. I had to adapt my swimming style to accommodate- some funny stuff happened there :D After surgery, was able to learn to scuba with no problems at all. Now ...

Re: Need guidance on CPAP

Hi all Back again for some guidance and input. Sept. was feeling pretty good. Had my 83 rd birthday and had a perfect APAP night. :D Wow. (not both the same night- couldn't stand so much good stuff at once). Gold stars to all the members whose posts educated me. Pugsy gets 5 stars, of course. Mouth ...

Need guidance on CPAP

Hey Pugsy
I will do those changes. My "therapy" was almost non-existent till I got help here. Your time and attention are surely appreciated by myself and all the many others you have guided here.
Thanks again :D

Re: Need guidance on CPAP

Hi all It's been a while and still trying to optimize therapy. I probably need to be Pugsied again :) Made these changes recently- 7/10 raised max from cpap 8 to 13. On 7/20 raised EPR from 2 to 3 and found that is much more comfortable. Less mouth-breathing going on. Would any more pressure changes...

Re: CPAP use

Hi and welcome

Your first step is excellent :!: Good therapy is all about the details. Pay attention to the small stuff and the big stuff gets better. Do what lsat and zonker said and you are on your way.
