Re: Prescription for specific mask?

Ask your DR to write this script saying "Mask of patients choice".

Get a copy of that and for your cpap in your hand.

I'm not a computer whiz, but this link should work if you copy/paste it into a new browser window: https://pge.post-gazette.com/pf3/edition/20240317/3
Your link works fine. I was surprised to find this wasn't behind a paywall.

Take off my mask
It was normal for me when I first started. In time your body/mind will get used to it. It might be helpful to keep a log of the hours you used the mask.

I have ENT appointment next week.
I think you'd be better off with a pulmonologist esp. one that specializes in sleep.

Maybe THD (total harmonic distortion) is the wrong term within this context. I believe a pure sine wave is what is being referred to as preferred for medical equipment.
Running a generator you may have to worry about that.

I always us DC power, no problem.

Re: Apria or Lincare

Have any of you found any differences between the two DMEs Apria or Lincare? I wouldn't do business with either of them. I can't change any settings and I can't put the memory card back in because the button is gone Search youtube for clinical menu. for Medicare patients, For Medicare patients the ...

One more thought, are you concerned at all about THD when using off the shelf power banks and this type of inverter with medical devices? Thank you
Depends on what you mean by THD?

Re: DIY power bank

We frequently lose power. I am considering purchasing a 12V lithium-ion battery and inverter to power my ResMed AirSense 10. Has anyone else explored this as a workable option? Thank you. With this cord you can use a 12V battery and your neighbors will thank you. https://www.amazon.com/airsense-10-...

I wouldn't keep the card without consulting the hospital who gave me the machine.
I absolutely agree. I'd forgotten this was a loaner from a hospital. I thought it was from an equipment supplier who handles things differently.

I edited my post.

Re: Backing up SD card

I would like to make a copy of the data on the SD card in case her respiratory doctor wants to view it. I am assuming I am able to just remove the SD card from the machine and plug it into my laptop and copy the data off and then put the SD card back in the BIPAP machine and nothing would be harmed...

Re: ResMed Bacterial Filters

you should not use the machine without one of the bacterial filters attached I would not use anything in the hose between the blower and the mask as this will obstruct airflow and can also interfere with the cpap detecting events. The humidifier will cause the filter to clog. Those filters were des...

Re: Not sure the sleep doctor has this one right!

I would like to get off Melatonin, but when I forget to take it, I lay awake until 2:30 am or so, then go take it. They are 5mg and thought I would cut them into 1/4 size and see if 1 1/4 mg would be better! It would take time and determination but I think you would have to wean yourself down below...

Re: Not sure the sleep doctor has this one right!

Question 1: Why do I sleep so long? Take a look at the side effects of the meds you listed. Fatigue and drowsiness are listed. Is that all of the meds? I take melatonin, and niacin at bedtime and metoprotol succ (beta blocker),Tylenol, Gabapentin and Celebrex. What time of day do you take the meds?...
