Re: OT - Haemoglobin measuring app

Try spelling hemoglobin American style. Maybe that will help? Thanks for the suggestion, but I tried it both ways, also searched for anaemia (both spellings) and looked for the specific apps I had read about. Somebody on TOOF suggested using a VPN so I'll try that tomorrow. Hopefully this will only...

OT - Haemoglobin measuring app

Hi all I want an app to monitor my haemoglobin without the need for frequent blood tests. I’ve found two mentioned online - both work by measuring the colour of your nail bed -but they don’t appear in the Australian Apple or Google stores. Does anybody know of a suitable app available in Australia? ...

Re: Sleep scores

The biggest problem with MyAir in my view is the weighing of the score toglether with the little messages of support. I remember a guy who had an AHI of 45 but his "score " was very high and the message was something along the lines of "that's a great result, keep up the good work! " Trying to reduc...

Re: Mild Sleep Apnea and new to this...

Hey all... G'day Steve, welcome to the forum. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea and it was recommended I get a CPAP. And me oh my there are lots of options. And my insurance doesn't cover anything so I'm doing all my own research to find the best options and prices. Looking for recommendations ...

Re: New CPAP user, a few questions

Can you use the free version of SleepHQ online thing so that the forum members can actually zoom in on the flow rate for those flagged centrals to see if any of them happen to be flagged while asleep? Anything while awake in terms of flagged events don't really count in terms of therapy but of cour...

Re: New CPAP user, a few questions

Also, I see 'Centrals' are at 8.2, 'Obstructives' at 2.7. Shouldn't these two numbers add up to 11.1? I guess this constitutes "high levels of centrals' ... The level of centrals is high enough that you should do something about it. Your WatchPAT report doesn't seem to discriminate between central ...

Re: New CPAP user, a few questions

By all means request a humidifier. Also insist on an *Auto* cpap it will give you more pressure options . Oh and check the most popular cpaps and masks at cpap.com Thanks for the feedback. The machine they gave me was "ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet". From what I'm reading and seeing about it, it's a p...

Re: New CPAP user, a few questions

An AHI of 30 or above is usually considered severe, eg: https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/wellness-and-prevention/the-dangers-of-uncontrolled-sleep-apnea#:~:text=The%20AHI%20measures%20the%20number,is%20between%2015%20and%2030 Obstructive sleep apnea is classified by severity: Severe obstructiv...

Re: OSCAR data showing Clear Airway events. Normal or something to worry about?

Welcome to the forum.

I don't think there are enough CAs there to worry about. I'm guessing (and could be corrected) that the little cluster you highlighted is transitional - ie you're in the process of waking up or dozing and your breath is getting a bit ragged. Also known as sleep-wake junk.

Re: CPAP reports

My supplier said I need to get new tubing every 6 months. That may be their desire for me to spend more money. You got it in one! Look after your hose and it will last years. Likewise mask components, humidifier tub etc. Hang your hose to dry - I drape mine over a coathanger with the open ends down...

Re: CPAP reports

It's good that you're feeling better with the therapy, but an AHI between 5 and 10 is probably not optimal. While 5 or less is regarded as "treated", many (most) people get the most benefit when AHI is down around 2 or lower. And your doc is right that AHI is the most important statistic, but it's o...

Re: CPAP reports

The first thing to do is get hold of the software which displays your CPAP data in detail. Your supplier should be able to help you. If not, you might have some luck here: https://www.remsleep.com.au/blog/data-downloads/ With all apnea treatment we need to see the data in as much detail as possible ...

Re: Need help to Adjust ASV pressure

I need help to set up the right pressure as I don't feel that good yet. I am sleeping long hours like 12+ and find it hard to wake up, heavy head(like head is squeezed), tired eyes etc . I do have bad sleep hygiene. I am trying to fix it but that might not be 100% possible as I sometimes I have to ...
