Apnea Events Still High After Titration Study Help Needed Lowering Events

Post by slowmoto » Wed Mar 20, 2024 8:38 pm

After having a titration study and trying the recommended settings i am still getting high Apnea events of multiple types. i feel like i havent sleep correctly and have had an undiagnosed sleep condition for many years.

The reason all this started was my doc recommending a sleep test after having hard to treat high blood pressure and constant feeling of exhaustion.

Any advice is appreciated .Thanks

Thanks for posting the titration-study report and the Oscar charts. In your original sleep study, what was the break-down of your AHI (obstructive apnea, central apnea, hypopnea)?

Based on your sleep study and the charts you posted it seems to me that the follow-up with the doctor is very important. You have indications of complex sleep apnea or treatment emergent central apnea that may not be properly treated with a CPAP which is why they suggested you come for a follow-up.
When they got a handle on the obstructives in the titration study, you had Central apneas in response to the pressure. Sometimes this goes away when you get used to the treatment but in other cases people need a machine different from a regular CPAP.

To follow up on ozij's post, it would be helpful in particular to know the central apnea index from your original sleep study.

By "original" do you mean a sleep study other than the titration study?
