Okay to wear earplugs/ear defenders with nasal pillows ?
This might sound odd, but I sometimes recently wear ear defenders or ear plugs to bed as I sleep in the day quite often so it blocks out noise, this is with CPAP at around a 16 pressure level. Will this cause a negative effect on my ears given they block them with air going up my nose ? Or will it make no difference ? I wore ear defenders (I think Americans call them ear muffs) last night and my tinnitus seems worse today, but it might be unrelated but made me wonder if it was causing more congestion or issues with my ears due to the pressure. Just curious really, thanks.

Cpap does not form a closed system--unless you are already congested.
If you don't feel pressure, there is nothing to worry about.
If OTC earplugs are uncomfortable, look into custom molded ear protectors.
Spendy, but it might be worth it.

I use foam OTC ones and haven't noticed any issues. It probably has been about 2 years now since I started.
