new centrals

Post by onward60 » Sat Mar 23, 2024 10:06 am

I'm wondering if a person develops centrals when starting therapy how long does that usually take to resolve on its own (if it's going to resolve on its own)? Thanks.

Assuming real asleep centrals that pop up just from using cpap (not awake/arousal breathing centrals) .....
IF they resolve on their own the time frame is highly variable....anywhere from a month to 6 months to never.

Is there anyway to tell if they are real?

In Oscar or SleepHQ, look closely at the breathing waveform immediately prior to the apnea. If there is a big spike of inhalation or a few seconds of very erratic breathing, then it's likely a false alarm.
* Download Oscar
* Oscar help
* An alternative to Oscar - try SleepHQ

I have no medical training or qualifications. Take my advice for what it's worth.

Thanks. I'm going to try to figure out how to post my OSCAR myself. It's a big mystery to me right now.
