chin strap

Post by bigla6940 » Sat Mar 30, 2024 9:35 am

My chin strap fails to consistently keep my mouth shut, resulting in dry mouth. Can anyone recommend a chin strap that has worked for them? Not keen on the idea of taping. I could use my strap to cover my mouth but not the best option.
Thanks

You can read some ratings and reviews here - https://www.cpap.com/search?query=chin

Some members will be along eventually to say what their favorite chinstrap is.

You can't really make a chinstrap that will vise grip the mouth closed.
Chinstraps are supposed to be "gentle" reminders to keep the mouth shut....they aren't a physical vise grip ratcheting the jaw closed.

Try an experiment.
Sit there and close your mouth so you teeth (upper and lower) touch.
Now just open you lips with the teeth clinched together and breathe....easy isn't it?
You can open your lips using a chin strap as well.
You can easily breathe through your mouth with teeth clinched together.
Chin straps just can't do what a lot of people want them to do.
