Re: CPAP hose plugs/caps for cleaning purposes

OK, so how do people suggest I disinfect the hose then? I like to do so when I am sick (which I currently am), so that I don't reinfect myself. I was trying to find the least messy way to go about this. My plan was to: 1) cap one end of hose 2) fill hose with diluted vinegar, recommended disinfectan...

CPAP hose plugs/caps for cleaning purposes

I'd like to DIY some tube caps/plugs similar to those pictured here: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/tube-cleaning-system-cpap-hose.html This would make it easier to fill the tubes with a dilute vinegar solution for cleaning. The hose connection cuff has an inner diameter of 22mm but I haven't foun...

Re: Best durable goods company

I've had issues with my CPAP machine breaking while traveling. I like American Home Patient because they have locations in all the cities I travel to for work - so if I find myself needing something they can help with a loaner/etc. YMMV - I've not had the chance to test this theory yet since switchi...

Re: Battery Recomendations

Has anyone ever tried using a jump starter pack like a Junp-N-Carry JNC660 ? I occasionally see this model as low as $100 on Amazon. http://www.cloreautomotive.com/sku.php?id=244 http://www.cloreautomotive.com/uploaded_files/sku/632_842-355-008%20C.pdf It has a 12V DC power socket - manual claims yo...

Re: FS: ResMed ResScan Smart Card Reader for S8 and S8 II $25

I think Pugsy was referring to the Resmed USB or Serial cables, you pop off the "data card module" aka the plastic cover with slot for the smart card, and you can plug in a USB module, a Serial port module, or the ResLink module that records pulse oximetry data. Here is a nice page with all the vari...

Re: FS: ResMed ResScan Smart Card Reader for S8 and S8 II $35

It was hard to find. I got this from CpapShop.com.au (yes, Australia!) in the summer of 2010. I couldn't find any USA DMEs / websites who would sell me one.

FS: ResMed ResScan Smart Card Reader for S8 and S8 II $25

I have a USED ResMed ResScan Smart Card Reader for S8 and S8 II. Includes my data card if you need it, I wrote over my name in permanent marker as you can see in image below. I used ResScan to wipe the data on the card. Asking $25 shipped (meaning the price includes shipping costs). I'll send it in ...

Re: Airsense 10 vs DreamStation (or something else)??

The Resmed Airsense 10 ( I have it) has an optional side cover. You can leave the humidifier off and use the cover. I got it to use when traveling. Although I found out, I prefer to use it with the humidifier. (And I travel alot). But it is an option to travel without taking the humidifier. The par...

Re: Airsense 10 vs DreamStation (or something else)??

The difference in power is that the Dreamstation uses a 12V supply (readily available) and the Airsense uses 24V which requires a power converter. So the Resmed requires this $85 power brick to hookup to a 12V battery or a 12V power outlet in a car: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed-dc-convert...

Re: Cigna/CareCentrix Concerns

I have Cigna/CareCentrix - its not a lot of fun dealing with the two of them. Basically, you only need to talk to CareCentrix once the insurance authorization is approved. No need to talk to Cigna after this point. CareCentrix in turn picks a DME (durable medical equipment) provider for you that act...

Re: Bigger travel bag for Resmed Airsense 10

I wouldn't spend a lot of time looking for the "Airsense 10 carry case with Slimline hose Compartment". Its still too small for extras. My old Resmed S8 case was great - lots of room for extra gear. I can barely fit two masks in my Airsense 10 case w/hose compartment. No room for extension cord (the...

Re: s9 fell off the nightstand, onto it's "back"

update, when I popped the hinged lid on the reservoir chamber, it gproduces air but does not get thru the tubing to mask the unit is approx 5 years old. you can disconnect the humidifier entirely. Try plugging your tubing right into the flow generator (the cpap machine itself), bypassing the humidi...
