Today's Solar Eclipse

Post by Dog Slobber » Mon Apr 08, 2024 8:53 am

I feel very fortunate that I live in the path of complete totality for today's solar eclipse.

I just hope the weather co-operates. The current forecast is partial cloudiness.

In case you are outside of of the path of the eclipse, or it's too cloudy, here's a YouTube live link:

Chicago Granny

In the last 100 years, Chicago has experienced four Major, Partial Eclipses, but never complete totality.
  • January 24, 1924
  • June 30, 1954
  • August 21, 2017
  • April 8, 2024
Hopefully, Granny will comment on which of the above four, that she witnessed, was the most spectacular.

Set for cloudy totality here in Austin... gonna try some infra-red video if it's not pouring rain. Took off from work, no sense trying to drive today, nutcases abound.

In Chicago, only the January 24th eclipse.

We were on an SC beach trip in 2017 and drove inland to a cute little town to experience total.
