Re: Getting CPAP Machine Data to SD Card
I take the SD card out of my AirSense 10 every morning to feed the data into Oscar. The PC regularly complains about the card being corrupted, needing reformatting, etc. Often, simply taking the card and reader out of my PC and reinstalling them back in place fixes things. Sometimes that needs doing...

Re: personal, at home sleep apnea test?
Hi again, robysue1. I wasn't aware of those other options you mentioned, but I was really just speaking from my own experience. I had the 2-prongs all night at my NHS hospital, yet they claim to have done some CPAP testing (for 11 minutes). Mind you they only used 0.1 mbar - which seems to be just 0...

Re: personal, at home sleep apnea test?
Hmm....when you have a PSG in a hospital, they sometimes do some titration. How can they do that when you are not wearing a sealed mask of some sort? It is typically one of those 2-prongs-in-the nostrils tubes.

Re: Does 10 EEG arousals/hour mean sleep apnea?
I really appreciate your highly-detailed response, robysue1 - it was fascinating. Where have I misunderstood? Quite a bit. That seems a bit harsh, given that I made 5 statements and I think you only disagreed with the last part of the 5th one? EEG arousals and RERAs are not essentially the same thin...

Brief switch to mouth breathing brings on lots of events
I had a unique situation (for me) last night. I awoke after 6.5 hours (having had zero events, which is becoming quite normal) and turned over....only to suddenly feel that my nose was so blocked that I couldn't really breathe through it (as I normally do). So I thought "no problem, I'm wearing an F...

Re: "CA" Clear Airway Events
Don't assume that since the breathing "looks" like asleep breathing that a person is really asleep. OK - that is certainly something new for me to consider. I could have sworn I have seen the experts stress many times that sleep breathing looks nothing like awake breathing though (and that's what m...

Re: "CA" Clear Airway Events
Hi Pugsy - I'm always fascinated by your explanations. Something you said here differs from a conclusion I had reached though, so maybe I can check that I really do understand what you're saying. In your third example, I think you are saying that the CA isn't real because you believe you were not re...

Does 10 EEG arousals/hour mean sleep apnea?
I was always pretty good at algebra but I can't make sense of this set of data. Normal AHI is 0-5; above that and you have sleep apnea. Normal RDI is 0-5; above that and you have sleep apnea. RDI = AHI + RERAs/hour So, if you have an AHI of 5, even a single RERA all night means you have sleep apnea!...

Re: personal, at home sleep apnea test?
Couldn't you get close to the answer you seek by turning the settings down on your CPAP to where it is not helping reduce events much? I highly recommend the use of SomnoPose to record your sleep position, by the way.

Re: Sudden burst of CA's because left arm was out of bed!
Sadly, the free version doesn't let me include my oximeter data or my SomnoPose data....and, for what you get, the Pro version's $15/month seems a lot to a pensioner.SleepHQ is free, and allows a hi-res sharing of data.
