Re: medicaid restock schedule question
My state’s Medicaid looks at when you last purchased (through them) various items. That means the timer starts when you are first issued a machine and supplies to take home. However, if I miss the reorder date and get supplies a little late, the timer for the next batch starts when the new supplies ...

Re: SP02 info on some Fitbit devices.
Not to mention, Google is the process of buying Fitbit - as if they weren’t already gathering too much personal information about everyone. I stopped using my Fitbit as soon as that was announced.

So, I should use the non-matching "ResMed AirSense™ 10 AutoSet™ CPAP Machine with HumidAir™ Heated Humidifier" because it contains the manufacturer name and should not use the non-matching "AirSense™ 10 CPAP Machine with HumidAir™ Heated Humidifier" because it doesn't contain the manufacturer name?...

Re: Just got my first machine. Could use some assistance.
I'm a firm believer that eventually we want to set the maximum pressure to 20, Good point. Starting off lower can make it easier to get used to therapy, and it can always be raised if charts show the machine consistently wants to go higher. I know I have mine set a 16 since anything higher bothers ...

Re: Do symptoms disappear right away?
After 5 months, the only improvement I have seen is the complete absence of morning headaches, and that was an almost immediate benefit, the daytime sleepiness and other related are still there for me, but that’s because I average under 5 hours sleep a night. Odds are I would see more improvement if...

And tap water in the humidifier chamber is fine as long as you empty the tank and let it dry out every day. Otherwise, you are likely to get nasty things growing in the tank. I do used distilled water 90% of the time, but it’s because I don’t want to bother with the chamber every day, or take the tr...

Re: Just got my first machine. Could use some assistance.
Meaningful settings are difficult without a sleep test, but setting a minimum of 7 and maximum of 20 would be a good start. After a few days of that, post your OSCAR charts and people can start helping you optimize the settings. EPR is there if you have problems exhaling against the pressure - leavi...

Re: ResMed's My Air App
If the patient was the priority, the data from the machine would not require reverse engineering and help from sympathetic insiders in order to be usable by anyone other than the DME or doctor. Resmed would not have created a proprietary power coupling that requires either use of their expensive ada...

And one piece of advice you draw from the study that seems really sensible is to have titration on the same machine that the patient will be using long term. (Kaiser Oakland, I’m looking at YOU.) If you've got an auto machine, you don't *Need* titration. You do when an auto cpap was the wrong machi...

Re: Medical Center launches innovative pilot program to screen patients for Obstructive Sleep Apnea at home
I walked away from reading the article with the understanding that the innovative part was that all cardiology patients would be tested, not just people presenting with insomnia or excessive sleepiness. The home testing would provide a cost effective way to diagnose and treat a group that had not pr...

Re: OT - vaping - cbd's
It usually depends on what your issue is. If you need immediate relief, smoking is fastest, followed by suppositories, then sublingual tinctures. Edibles take the longest to take effect. On the other hand, the faster they take effect, the sooner the effect goes away, and the less overall time they a...

It would be helpful if the original poster would clarify whether they were asking about the AitTouch F20 with memory foam, or the AirFit F30 hybrid full face mask. The responses have been confusing too, since some seem to be using the terms interchangeably. I thought he made it very clear. First li...

Re: Airfit F20 Cushion
IMHO it depends on a lot of things...... do you wipe it clean everyday with cpap wipes , do you wash your face each night before putting it on... do you use aftershave... etc etc In my experience I have had one last between 2 and 3 months ,,,,,, doing everything correct..... and worse case scenario...
