Hello,
I am new to this forum and to fpap machines. I am looking for some feedback. I have the opportunity to buy a Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV with 9600hrs, for $350, in person. I would like to know if this is a good price, and what to look and ask for when deciding to buy it or not. Understand it was a $3500 machine when new so it seems like a good price.
Thank you for any comments.

Martijn;
350.00 Dollars is a good price for a Aircurve 10 ASV .. Have You seen the machine in person, Checked the machine hours ??
The clinician manual will tell You how to check machine hours .. Do You have a prescription for or a medical need for
an ASV machine ?? ASV is the most advanced type of cpap ..
Answering these questions and posting a sleep study with personal information blocked out will help someone with much
more knowledge then I have help You ..
Hope this helps ..

2. Are you currently using ASV?
3. What are your other options for getting a machine? Insurance?

9600 run hours is about 3.5 years of solid use.
Not old, but approaching the 5 year/15,000 hour mark that I'm not comfortable buying used.
Ask to test it out:
Not old, but approaching the 5 year/15,000 hour mark that I'm not comfortable buying used.
Ask to test it out:
- Bring your mask.
- Run it, listen for noise/whining.
- Test in the sellers home, so you can verify it's smoke free (pet free) and general cleanliness
- Test the SmartStart feature
- Smell it, both running and non-running
- Go through the menus (clinical and user), verify run hours
- Ask why they're selling it
- Ask what's included (spare hoses, cushions, masks, humidifiers)
- Ask if an Ozone cleaner has been used with it. Do not buy the ASV if an ozone cleaner.

Re: Resmed Aircurve 10 ASV with 9600hrs
I recently bought a used Aircurve 10 ASV From someone on this forum.
It had 700 hours on it.
I paid $750.
A machine with 9600 hours is probably good for another 2 or 3 years and the price of $350 reflects that. So I would call it a coin flip. I prefer a machine with lower hours, so I paid a bit more. If you actually need an ASV machine, used ones are rare. I have been lucky Enough to find 2 used ASV machines 5 years apart.
I also appealed to my insurance company on this current purchase, and they went against their policy and reimbursed me 80% of what I paid. I was shocked, but pleased.
