OSCAR Question with new machine

Post by MurrayNevada » Thu May 02, 2024 8:42 pm

I'm replacing my Resmed Airsense 10 with a new Airsense 10. Is it OK to use the SD card I have been using or is it necessary and/or preferable to use the one that came with the new machine?

Thank you.

The new machine may not like the old card if it has the old machine's data on it.
You may need to erase the old SD card if you want to use it.

I would just use a new card in the new machine if it was me.

I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

If you want to try the Eclipse mask and want a special promo code to get a little off the price...send me a private message.

Good choice. Put a new motor in the old one and keep it as a spare.

When you plug it in it will over-write the data... might as well just keep it in the old machine and use the new card in the new machine. When the machine finds data headers that don't match it overwrites them. If you're saving your data off into Oscar etc there's no benefit to using the old card.

Thanks Pugsy and Van. Now I'm trying to decide if I should install the new machine now or wait until my current AS10 (now at 20,000+ hours) gives up the Ghost. The new machine is the "Card to Cloud" model. I bought it because stock is supposedly running low with the Card to Cloud models and I was able to get one from the board's sponsor for a really good price. Couldn't care less about the lack of a modem as I find the MyAir app mostly useless for my purposes.

I would use the new machine while it is under warranty.....just in case.
If you wait until the other one up and dies it might put your new machine out of warranty and if something should happen to it when out of warranty then you will be kicking yourself in the butt.

Odds are nothing will happen but you never know. I wouldn't waste the warranty.

I hear you Pugsy. That area is already black & blue due to 70+ years of kicking myself in the butt over many things. I'll set the new one up this weekend and use the old AS10 as the backup.
Thanks as always.
