Past Pest back to bother you again

Post by GeneMpls » Sun May 05, 2024 12:26 pm

I have been around for most of my cpap adventure and respect you guys a lot. I had open heart surgery a year ago this February and lost my cpap habit after that- could not use it in the hospital [they tell you to bring it but they are not prepared to let/assist in it's use]. My 29 year sweetie [she is not 29yo, we have been cohabiting for that long] who has experience my apnea events for that long reported that I no longer had apneas at night and that sounded pretty good to me! I did not connect again, altho I was having different issues that my Dr and I were trying to figure out [that was how I went to my Cardiologist and ended up
on the surgeons table], I am still enjoying the issues [Brain Fog issues] and along the way I asked for another home sleep test, after several weeks they issued a verdict- come in for a clinical test immediately as my O2 readings were frightening. These are the same sleep Drs that I have had very poor interactions with when I first started cpap. I have had a Viatom O2 ring for a long while- which they showed no interest in seeing the charts- so did not think it was a real factor. I used the ring overnight and the warning vibration went off several times [below 85%] so I am back on the cpap machine and feel much better mentally altho I still have a lot of brain fog symptoms. I will not go back to the phony sleep Clinic that is in my health care syndicate, so I am back to bore you good people
[ you may recognize my prolific writing style by now ]. I have an account with SleepHQ but cannot figure out how to post a screenshot on there [focus and memory are some of the issues] and would love to post a current screenshot for your enjoyment, Last night was AHI 1.62 BTW. Thank you Gene
[Not sure where the italics came from- not one of my issues.]

You've been through a lot! I'm glad the surgery is in the rear-view mirror, and it's good to hear you're feeling some improvement from resuming CPAP.

Not so good to hear you had problems with your O2 levels. Did they give you a copy of your sleep test? (In the U.S., they have to if you ask for it.) I'm curious just what those O2 levels looked like. I'm also curious what you AHI was.

Is any medical professional now working with you to make sure the O2 issue is truly resolved? It'd be nice to see how your O2 levels are doing during the day, and very nice to see what happens at night. Do you think your primary care physician could issue you an O2 monitor to use around the clock for a few days to see what's happening?
Oscar software is available at https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/

Welcome back, Gene.
How long have you been back on your CPAP?
Are you using the Viatom ring now?

How can we help you?

There's a way of sharing your data from SleepHQ by creating a public link to it, not by making a screenshot
How to create a publicly viewable link to your data on SleepHQ

I wouldn't pooh pooh the option of having a titration in the (or a) sleep clinic: Despite the fact they ignored your private O2 data they are not ignoring your present state -- and I remember you had a rather complicated response to xPAP therapy before your surgery.
Let's how things look now.

My memory is faulty but I would guess two weeks back on cpap. And I use the O2 ring every night [forgot one night- see faulty memory- I have to number my medications [there are eight +vitamins] because I get mixed up on if I have or have not taken them as I proceed].
I can ask my MD if she will get a copy but I have a pretty good record on Oscar including the O2 readings and can line up O2 readings with the other charts.

I have a SleepHQ acct but have never used it- my impression was we were posting screenshots of Oscar- I was trying to figure out how on SHQ but their system is their own apparently. I am also not a fan of the spokesdrip [cannot recall his name at this time]. I will find somewhere to post my screenshot- the free sites I tried are always after you for one thing or another, and with the election, I get 20 emails a day minimum- and the election is the most important thing right now.
My issues with the Sleep Clinic go deep and wide- far beyond the O2 problem. My AHI levels are in the 1 to 2 range so I am not too concerned with the titration right now. So many things I am playing Wackamole with right now. May Sweetie has Parkinson's and has almost completely lost her voice and most ability to walk.

Thank you for welcoming me back to the fold. Gene

As for organizing daily meds, I have used the 7-day pill organizers for years now.
I sort and refill every Saturday morning after breakfast.
I have my meds lists [one rx, one OTC] on my phone--(always handy.)
(((Even at my best, bits of brain matter fall dormant each day.)))
Every third week, I replace my filter and pillows, switching headgear and frame if needed.
I note the epoch week on my calendar, so I only had to look it up once a year.

The reason to use SleepHQ is that it presents the charts in a browser, and if you share a link, we can drill down (zoom in) wherever we ("the public") want to
I see you found a way to share a screenshot. And yes, it does help that OSCAR lets you put the O2 chart aligned wherever you want to, in a way that SleepHQ does not.

Some image sharing sites - e.g. imgur.com let you share images without logging in.

On this chart, the drop in O2 data accompanies a leak period. Do you see something similar on other charts? And the breathing pattern before that (20:00 to about 23:00) when your O2 was actually good, looks unstable. Do you know why?

Can your MD or cardiologist refer you to another sleep clinic? Can you discuss the O2 data - and the improvement in brain fog when you use CPAP - with your cardiologist or MD? Can the cardiologist (or MD) order O2 tracking (and recording) for the night with a professional device?

I am still here- uploading my data to SleepHQ and watched a couple hours of their videos this am- I found some good explainations so I must plead guilty to making a premature judgement about the 'Goodday Mates' person. And their upload to charting program- I am trying currently how to upload my O2 data, or even to add the ring to my devices- not sure if you have to buy the ring from them? Anyway here is my latest, don't know if you can see all my records from this?

Thank you Sir- I have been busier than my foggy brain can cope with. Got my 60th class reunion end of week and as I have/had a signshop I was asked to do the signage. Have not done this stuff for 5 years and between rusty and foggy and stressed out, it is going as expected...

Unfortunately you must pay for the Pro version to have your O2Ring added as another 'machine'. 150USD/year. This is where Oscar shines.
