Many of us "oldtimers" seldom change the water. Just top it off when it gets low. Rested Gal and I are among the oldies. Obviously speaking of cpap use, not age. .........

Re: AI vs HI

My HI always seems to be considerably higher than my AI numbers. For mouth breathing, you need to try a full face mask or seal your mouth closed. A high HI, might mean that your pressure isn't correct. It probably is too low, but also might be that it's too high. If it were me, I would bump my pres...

Keep your prescription until you order online. Then just fax them a copy when you place your order. At least that's what I've done on two occasions.

Re: FDA approved in-home sleep study

I have worked in sleep for 25 years now , The unattended polysomnogram and pre-screener is never a good Idea. Many Apnea like disorders can be caused by poor functioning brain stimuli to Poor heart conduction and Pulmn Hypertension. Ins companies will use the quick study method to deny full effect ...

Re: Respironics Humidifier Recall

The affected units were manufactured from December 2001 through April 2003. If your serial number has more than 6 digits after the H your unit is not involved in the recall. I researched this earlier this year and found the information posted on another forum. The serial number range affected is H0...

Regardless of what you think, you are having problems on straight CPAP at 20.

Why suffer when there are better machines for you to use?
Why buy out-of-pocket later? That's why you pay insurance premiums.

You really should let your doctor know that you are having problems and ask for a Bi-Level.

Well, if I had a current CD of the software, I would share. I only have the older version. If they won't sell it, then other methods have to be utilized. Don't tell me about legalities -- health issues are more important.

Re: Tired of how things have been

Feel free to vent. You've paid your dues. And probably run the gamut of emotions on this roller coaster ride. Now it's time to dedicate some time to you and rediscover what else is important to you besides your husband's health. The dynamics in your household are changing, and that most likely mean...

What I had to do was lower my pressure because of pain and fluid in my ears. It might not be the best solution, but I still get good therapy without the ear problems.

Yes, turn your humidifier down or OFF.

I even had to lower my pressure. It seemed the higher pressure forced the eustachian tubes in the ear canal to open up -- thereby allowing fluid in my ears and causing pressure (like flying).

Let us know your status.

I always liked using the Breathe Rite strips -- really opens up the nose air passages. But too bad I get an allergic adhesive rash from them.

I do take a generic Actifed from Walmart, but if I have a really bad day, I use Astelin. Someone here on the forum recommended it. It's a prescription nasal spray (and tastes horrible), but it sure works. I find that I only need it about once a month.
