Need More Information! - Data Question

Post by twitch » Mon Apr 09, 2007 6:06 pm

I'm a bit of a data geek and would love to know how to get my hands on some numbers...for further analysis

I have a ResMed S8 Elite and I notice that when I scroll through the menus on screen I get NOTHING. Ok, so maybe I get the number of hours I've used the machine, but what does that tell me?!

I'm guessing that I need a card reader and software? If I get those, will I be able to get information off the S8 Elite that will tell me how I've been doing? At this point, two weeks in, I have no idea whether the CPAP is making a difference or not. I don't even know if I'm having problems with leaks....

Check out this thread

If this is not the answer you were looking for, the people on that thread have the same or similar machine.

Twitch, try this:

ResMed S8 Series
To get into the provider setup mode in a ResMed S8 CPAP machine - such as the S8 Compact, S8 Elite or S8 AutoSet Vantage - follow these steps:

press the right and down arrows simultaneously for about 3 seconds until the word "clinical" appears
select Menu
Use the left and right arrows to cycle through the settings and use the up and down arrows to make adjustments. Below is a list of settings you can cycle through on an S8 AutoSet Vantage automatic CPAP machine. There are four groups of settings which have adjustments and data within them.
Settings
CPAP Mode
Minimum CPAP Pressure
Maximum CPAP Pressure
Maximum Settling / Ramp

Wow! That worked perfectly!

Thanks Linda.

Now, my question is - what do the following mean? Are they good or bad?

Day:
Leak: 0.32 L/s
AHI: 6.2
AI: 1.9
HI: 4.3

Week:
Leak: 0.04 L/s
AHI: 6.2
AI: 1.2
HI: 5.2

It's interesting that although it appears that last night had higher leaks, the AHI didn't change. Judging from the fact that my AHI is above 5, it looks like I may need to change something... ARG. My pressure is already at 11!

Thanks!

Jessica

Increase your pressure 1 cm at a time and for about a week at a time to review results.
If you're already at 11, I would suggest bumping it up to 12.

Den
(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow
