On line manuals

Post by stages3n4 » Fri Apr 13, 2007 8:13 am

I know I've seen posted elsewhere websites for other xpap manuals that one can access on line.

Does anyone know if Resmed manuals are accessible online and what the web address would be?

Thanks Hayes...

One of the manufacturers apparently has their manuals that you can view them on line, not buy them. I was hoping there was a similar site for Resmed.

I purchased a provider/clinician's manual on eBay for $6.95. I chose to have it e-mailed to me and he e-mailed it the next day (pdf format).

Why should someone pay for a manual that should come with teh equipment?

I know all the respironics manuals are available on their website for freee download. You may find Resmed manuals online as well, or someone should be able to scan them and send them to you.

sleepingbear, the patient manuals do come with the machine and, you're right, I do believe you can view them or download them from the manufacturer's site. But that's the only manual that comes with the equipment, at least if you get it through your DME. There is also the provider/clinician manual that has different information, such as how to set your pressure, change whether or not you want c-flex turned on/off, or to view data that was originally blocked. This other manual is the one I was referring to on eBay.

I agree SleepingBear, but that is the fun of insurance. Without going into detail, it was far better for me financially to go through insurer than for paying outright. With that being the case, I am locked into one DME, I don't technically own the machine (yet), and the person I have to deal at the DME doesn't know much about this and said that she is not allowed to, and there for won't, part with the clinician's manual.

Through this wonderful forum, I was informed on how to access the clinician menu on my machine, so I was able to check that the setting did match what was prescribed.

But, like most everyone else on here, I want a more active role in my therapy than what the DME thinks I should have, hence, I am trying to find out more about my machine.

When I was searching the net for information on enabling Cflex on M series I stumbled onto a forum post (a different board I believe) that mentioned that the providers manuals that are for sale on Ebay are around 62 pages long.

This poster said that he had found a technical support manual online from Respironics website that was something like 250 pages long. He provided a link to a .pdf file, but when I tried it the link was dead. That's the file I would like to find.

I've since tried searching for the post again and can't seen to find it.

I'd like to know from someone who has the $7 manual from Ebay; was it worth it?

If all you folks are looking for is the "Clinical Setup" instructions about how to get into changing your pressures and other settings......they've been frequently posted on this forum. All you need to do is ask for the one you're looking for......if you can't find it by searching or looking back through some of the threads.

Cedric, yes, I think the $7 eBay purchase was worth it.

I bought the Respironics M Series, BiPap Auto, and have shared it several times. Just PM me if you need it.

Makes me wonder.

I bought my M Autoit came with the User manuals for the humidifier and the APAP. Nothing was think or many then 50 pages.

How to change settings was provided in one sheet called the Provider Quick Setup Guide. (There is an important notice saying to remove this guide before giving the device to the patient.)

There is a device's provider manual but I did not get it. I wonder if this is what is being sold.

the thing is the Clinical Manual does come with every machine, the DME where you purchased it took removed it from the delivery. This is like buying a car and having the dealer remove the Service Manual.

for Remstar it is only a 2-page graph, for the Resmed about 3/8" thick. You don't really need it unless you want to understand what all the parameters are.

Not too hard to figure out even on a Resmed once you access the Clinical menu. I have no idea how you would do that.
