Remembering the heroes and heroins of this forum

Post by javaide » Sun Apr 15, 2007 7:40 am

In my earlier post, I recalled the names of some of our heroes and heroines, who are making colossal contribution to assist their fellow human beings, in this forum. Let us pause for a while (amidst mad rush of dialetric materialism) and remember them them live, for their selfless motivations in helping others. Let us tell them thank you and even laud their efforts, if they have contributed to the goodness of our civil society. I gave some of the names as follows:

SWS = Professor Iensteine (Writes amazing scientific literature on
apnea unequalled by anyone else)

Snoredog = Super genius. ( Surely, what he writes today may be
discovered by science tomorrow, for instance on melatonin)

SAG = Genius. (wonderful ability to read so many apnea reports)

Rested Gal = Mother Theressa. (Helping everyone with a link)

Pad a Cheek = Noble nurse. (helping everyone with a healing pad)

Rooster = Gentleman. (A real gentleman in his posts)

College Girl = Margret Thatcher. (seeks to enforce discipline in the
forum Thatcher did in UK.)

Birdshell = Nightingale.(singing bird conducts delightful polls).

Linda 3032. = Loving Mom (Always with love and affection).

J.Skinner =Little Master. (of the English Folklore literature, with silent
quite eyes, helping others with his wonderful software on
apnea.

Let me add a few other names to salute them for their ingrained goodness:

Dreamstalker= Bertrand Russel (always concevign something even in sleep- see his photograph havign sweet dreams).

Self Seeker=- Canadian Pride. (A determined lady to help you out any time, with countless addresses in relation to your problem. She is a brave lady and ready to raise you spirits by her slogan: I can do this- I will do this).

Goofyut = Man with a mission. (See his posts where he inspires you with his Herculian perforamnce of incredible loss of weight and lowering his Lipid profiles - an exemplary figure for all of us to follow).

Azaloune = Proud wife. (Azaloune is the proud wife of a husaband who could easily risk his life to save a child. The panorama of life marches forward simply because such noble people are amidst us).

Let each of us honour other heroes and the heroines who in their opinion are contributing to the glory of this forum. In doing so, we feel, a renewed desire to live and live in a better world.

More later.

What a wonderful list and tribute some of the fine members of this forum!

And Mikemoran who, with his mile-high humor and wisdom, keeps us smiling!

And to cpap.com for setting up this forum!

I'd add the name of every new person to cpap who finds his/her way to this (or any) message board because of an absolute determination to "make this work", rather than quit. New people who get up the nerve to post a question on an internet forum for the first time ever. Without their questions, there would be no board.

Most of all, I'd add the names of the nameless ones...the people who never find out about any apnea message board. The ones who are handed a mask and machine, then left to sink or swim alone. The ones who have masks chewing the nose and CPAPs blowing air they can barely breathe out against...but they keep using it every night. Never knowing there can be ways to make it all more comfortable. Doing their best, with no help at all, to stick with the treatment anyway.

Each and ALL of those listed in the above posts have been tremendous help to me personally. I want to add a gold star by each of their names - and particularly Rested Gal who keeps going above and beyond....

I would like to add Mile High Sleeper to the list.

She has done an amazing job of gathering information and advice and writing articles that are under the Yellow Lightbulb. They were an amazing help when I first found this list and I find myself referring back to them through the months to continue to benefit from them.

Also Kteague - who has the amazing knack to say just the right things for encouragement to each person who needs it. What an amazing gift.

And to Catnapper - who has helped my personally through some rough emothional times, and always takes the time to post long, clear explanations to my questions.

I feel honored and very undeserving to be mentioned with the above list of names. Thank you. That said, see you in a couple of weeks:

I agree, Rested Gal, and would like to add the names of the suffering undiagnosed/misdiagnosed. Those who are trying otc sleep medicines, herbs, vitamins, exercise, acupuncture, acumassage; those whose doctors have prescribed beta blockers, sedatives, antidepressants, prescription sleep drugs, psychotherapy.

Please observe your friends, acquaintances and coworkers. If you see symptoms, tell them about sleep apnea and its dangers. This work can be as important as what you do on this board.

Most all of those folks have had an input on my various problems, and especially Snoredog and NightHawkeye, who helped me go thru the process of lowering my titration from 8 to 7, thinking it through, as it were. The fact that my sleepdoc agreeed with their thoughts gives it even more validity. SD and NHE, my sleepdoc just sent me a prescription for a PB420E with HH and silverlining software, so even though I am up to sleeping all night (with a couple interruptions) with the mask, I can now monitor what's going on, as soon as I get the machine. By the way all who helped me with rainout, thanks...passover and a snuggle cover works wonders. have a good nite..bob

I totally agree with Rested Gal.

Please od not forget Mile High Sleeper, Her doctrine books are precious. The time and effort she put in them is greatly apprecitated.

Rooster, that is what I am doing observing and spreading the news.

I also do not feel in the same league with those who have taught me so much and pay it forward everyday. I hope I can keep paying it forward to others who make it here looking for answers like I did.

Thank you very much!

When asked why in the last few days, my husband has stated "I have my stupidly brave moments".

This is what he thinks. I think he is wonderful and I thank others for noticing!

Thanks again, Azaloune.

I would ad Blarg. I guess I compare him to my daughter since they are both young.....but my daughter is not as tolerant of my dim questions and would not do so much research into a disorder that a young person shouldn't have to deal with

Every name listed deserves tribute and praise for all their contributions in helping all of us that were seeking answers to coping with "our new prescribed way to sleep" with all our foreign paraphanelia Imagewhen we had the good fortune of stumbling onto this forum.
In addition there are many others that have contributed to my success if only by reading their questions and seeing the answers they received. Since it would be impossible for me to remember each one at my advanced age with so many "Senior Moments" I would like to add my thanks to each and every poster (excluding the spammers, of course). Image
Of course I can't forget Mr. Goodman that certainly deserves a special round of applause just for keeping the forum operating and all this info accessible to us. Image
