Ok I know they are the sister company of cpap.com, I love cpap.com and cpaptalk, After getting wrong supplies from Apria and being fed up with them I decided to try billmyinsurance.com, They found out my copay and other items with insurance and I was getting ready to fax them my sleep study and titration results along my with prescription. She asked me last time I got supplies. I told her that I had received a new masked 1/18/07, she then told me over the next few minutes that they will not touch my account until June because i got a mask in January because the original one they gave me didn't work. And on an intial order with billmyinsurance they require the full setup on your first order for supplies. i.e. Mask, headgear, hose, filters. My insurance cover a mask every three months, and hose and filters every month.
The service agent said that billmyinsurance likes to wait 6 months inbetween orders for the assurance that items will get approved and paid. She told me to call back in a couple of months and they would be glad to work with me. I need new supplies but will not go through Apria and wanted to give billmyinsurance a try. Guess some duct tape on my mask will have to do for almost two months till billmy insurance will talk to me.

Billmyinsurance.com RANT!
Alpha, I understand your frustration. Jeff is right, of course, we should be (and I am) grateful we have insurance. But that doesn't mean that we can't get frustrated!!!
It might help a bit if you understood that Medicare (and thus a LOT of insurances) will pay for a new mask every 3 months BUT they will only pay for a new headgear every SIX months. The mask and the headgear have separate HCPCS codes and are billed separately for insurance purposes. I know it is confusing because we see cpap.com w/a set price for the headgear and mask as one unit.

B&M DMEs can sell you just the mask. They do this by opening the package and removing the headgear. I want to see what they do with masks that don't have removable headgears (well, sans hack saw anyway) like the Twilight NP.alpha1340 wrote:Tell me if I am wrong but i have yet to find a place that will only sell the mask.
I'm a programmer Jim, not a doctor!
I guess I am just mad because I thought I finally had my way out of Apria for my supplies. Still contracted on my machine for a few more months. I just don't want to have to go back to apria for my mask because they just plain suck. Now I have to wait almost two months to start getting my supplies from billmyinsurance
I'm in the same boat w/my CPAP DME supplier. I'm stuck w/them for another 6 months and 8 days. *sigh* But for my CPAP machine only. You "can" go elsewhere for your masks and other supplies. I talked some turkey w/my 02 supplier and pulled no bones about how much I disliked my CPAP DME. I now get my masks, etc. from my 02 DME and am just counting the days until I am totally rid of my CPAP DME and my CPAP is mine!!!
