Hello
Just found out about this site . I have had my cpap for about 2 yrs and wonder why i didn't do it sooner! For the first few weeks I felt I was addicted I couldn't wait to get to bed and feel rested all the next day.
I do have some questions -- Do you need to return to the sleep clinic on a regular basis , like every few years or only if you have problems?
How do you know if your cushion on your mask needs to be changed? The instructions say every 3 mo.
My husband says I sometimes have a low snore.but I think my mask may just need adjusting from my turning in bed.,but how will I Know?
Any help to these questions would be appreciated mab

Hi Mab,
Welcome to cpaptalk.com.
I would change the cushion on your mask when you feel that it dosn't seal likt it used to. With proper care, you may get more than 3 months.
The rule of thumb for sleep studies is if you have gained or lost 15% of your body weight, or you are feeling accessive daytime sleepiness. I think we all know when things start to slide.
If you don't have any of the above, I would go once every 4 or 5 years. But saying that, I have had 3 sleep studies in 4 years. The second was a weight loss situation and the 3 a weight gain. Yoyoing here.... lol
Regards,
Ted
