Resmed Clinical Trials

Post by darthlucy » Mon Jun 25, 2007 6:34 pm

While looking for information on S8 recalls on the ResMed website, I came across the following, which I thought might be of interest to some, particularly those who have posted the need for a machine but inability to buy one. (Sometimes in clinical trials they let you keep the equipment you use.)

ResMed Clinical Trials

ResMed is a leader and innovator in the development of products to treat sleep-disordered breathing (SDB). Through clinical research studies, we are able to improve current treatment, discover new areas of treatment and enhance product development to better serve our patients. ResMed works with respected medical centers and clinical research professionals around the country.

We are sponsoring a study involving the use of a new bilevel flow generator for patients with SDB or obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Currently, two clinical sites—Phoenix, AZ and Seattle, WA—are recruiting patients. If you are interested and live in these areas, are at least 18 years of age, and have used CPAP to treat your OSA but feel that you cannot tolerate the pressure, please contact one of the study sites below for more information.

ResMed is also currently sponsoring a study involving the use of a sleep apnea screener in the home.

If...

* you are 18 years of age or older,
* live in the Pittsburgh, PA area,
* have suspected SDB and are scheduled for a sleep study or are willing to have a sleep study,
* and are willing to use the device at home

...contact the study coordinator below for more information about the clinical trial being conducted at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center:
