Got mine today. Thanks, Pursleep. The issue I have is that my xPAP is sitting on top of a UPS, not a table. The xPAP is wider than the UPS, so there is no obvious place to set the ceramic thingie. I'm not very mechanically minded, but I envision having to make some sort of small shelf that might ei...

Neither my doctor nor the DME has asked for any data. In fact, when I asked the DME how often they're going to want the card to check compliance for the insurance company, they said they rarely ever need the card for that. (my GP keeps track of my blood glucose all the time -- which I appreciate!!! ...

I'm not sure what kind of argument you're asking for about the diabetes analogy. As a diabetic, I find Jen's analogy quite appropriate. It would be absurd to do blood glucose tests without knowing the results immediately. Any delay in the results would make them essentially meaningless. (I hope I ha...

Know what you mean -- It works that way with me as well..... I believe the "day/night" parameter is set from noon to noon to make sure it catches all the sleep time for one 24 hour period -- but I'm still learnin'.... I'm trying to get Encore Pro Analyzer to install so I can look at more meaningful ...

Great explanation Panhandler -- hadn't thought of that angle, but you are right -- there's no such thing as a "tragic accident" anymore. For every action there must be a lawsuit..... If you stub your toe on a walk around the block you have to sue everyone -- the city that is responsible for the side...

Hey gamsberry Mucho thanks for the filter info -- I'm going to bookmark that one for future reference!!! I'm going to be working with an APAP machine starting Wednesday and my pressure is presently at 7cm, so taking the warnings into consideration, I'll put it on the list for hopefully someday!!!! T...

Hey Sharon, Point well taken!!!! I'd like to live without the chemicals also, but I'm one of those people that would be dead without them. My allergic reactions are intense that I get asthma, then I stop breathing altogether, so though I tend to totally agree with you -- I'll take my meds...... Stil...

Rabid1 is correct -- all good advice and comments. In general, there is no financial institution that will send you an email asking for account or personal information. I've been doing ebay and paypal for years, but I'm a true skeptic.....If it doesn't "smell" right it goes directly into the trash!!...

Google on "vicks inhaler". I think you'll be shocked at what you find!!! In general, vaso restrictors are not a good thing to use all the time!!!! (most OTC nasal sprays are vaso restrictors). They're not physically addictive per sae, but the way they work, they seem to be. They'll open the nasal pa...

Jenn's absolutely right -- it's all about the $$$ and if there are $$$ involved you can bet a paycheck that the DME knows!!!! Great suggestion Jenn - I have an appt with the DME on Wed. to swap my CPAP for an APAP -- I think I'll call 'em on Monday and ask them to give me a list of what can be repla...

Hey VT, Hang in there man -- it's worth the hassle!!! Like Babs, it took me from late Jan thru 5th of June to get my tests in and the results out that got me a CPAP.....I've had that since the 5th and still don't have it wired. AHI is still averaging 11.7 (not good!!!) Between insurance, docs and DM...

Slept ok I guess - up twice for BR break. Slept from 11:30 till 8:30 and feel like crap..... Just pulled reports and AHI average is still 11.7 (30 days), so I'm still not there. OA's are looking GREAT -- average 1.8 (30 days) Hypopneas looking crappy -- average 9.9 (30 days) Don't think mask is leak...

I want all the detailed data I can get from the machine. When I talk with the doctor and show her the reports we can discuss what's going on rather than just the AHI etc...... An example is that I used the data available to convince her to re-prescribe me to an APAP machine from a CPAP... That and I...
