Re: Recommend a Diabetes forum?
Hi Chris Welcome to the club! I joined the type 2 club in January of this year. I joined the diabetes forum at the American Diabetes Association website http://community.diabetes.org/t5/Main-Community/ct-p/Support-Forums . You can take a look around, very nice and quite helpful. If you like it, regi...

Re: anyone had successful turbinate reduction surgery
I had turbinate reduction on one side and deviated septum corrected during one surgery to improve my breathing which it did greatly prior to starting cpap. A couple of years ago I had turbinate reduction on the other side to help clear that side up. I breath much better now all around and still requ...

Re: uvula removal
I had my uvula removed in 2005 just before being diagnosed with sleep apnea. My ENT was correcting my deviated septum and reducing one turbinate and said he would take out the uvula for free to help with my snoring. He said he couldn't do a UPPP because insurance wouldn't approve it but he could rem...

Re: Turbinate Reduction and Septoplasty
Army mom Everyone is different I guess but my experience during my two separate turbinate reductions was really not much discomfort at all. Of course they give you meds during surgery for the post op pain and prescriptions for stuff like vicodine to take at home but I only took one pill at home afte...

Re: Considering a dental device for apnea. Appreciate feedback.
Hi Jak3099 I have used an oral appliance since 2006 about 6 months after getting diagnosed with sleep apnea. I had an initial pressure of 18 which I was unable to find a way to keep my mask sealed. I approached my dentist about doing an oral appliance and he referred me to another dentist who specia...

Re: Turbinate Reduction and Septoplasty
Hello Army mom A short while before being diagnosed in 2005 with sleep apnea I had my deviated septum corrected and turbinate reduction on the right side. I did this to hopefully end my snoring which drove my wife out of the room almost every night. It helped for about a month but my snoring came ba...

Re: S9 autoset is making puffing sounds....
Dale - I put a rubber band around my hose and pin it to the side of my bed so if I get restless during the night, I feel that tug before I feel the tug of the machine being pulled. Just a thought. That is a good idea, I think I will give that a go and see if that ends the episodes of no humidity. T...

Re: S9 autoset is making puffing sounds....
I just got the machine and the hose from cpap.com about a month ago. I am going to keep an eye on it. It could be as simple as me being a little more mobile during my sleep and I might be tugging on the hose a little. It sure is irritating to wake up and be so dry because the humidifier has been act...

Re: S9 autoset is making puffing sounds....
I have not noticed the puffing noise but I have had a few days where my climate line hose must lose its "electronic" connection because I lose the visuals that show the humidity level and temp in the display. Once I reseat the hose a few times it will come back on and pop back off and finally come b...

Re: S9 Autoset question
Yes just press the info button when you get up and you will see some basic info. I appologize if I can't give detailed info but my wife and I are both sick with bad colds and I am letting her sleep so I am doing this from a foggy memory. First press and hold both the "Setup" button and the "Push Dia...

Re: S9 Autoset displaying inacurate data
Agreed Pugsy, that seems like the most logical thing to do. I have had issues with computers, CD players, blueray etc and that is usually the first thing I do. Must be this stupid cold I have been dealing with most of this week otherwise I would have unplugged it like you and Newbie Woman suggested....

Re: S9 Autoset displaying inacurate data
Thanks for the replys! Yes I did unplug my unit and I made sure the time was correct, I also go to sleep the same time almost every night 9:30PM and get up at 5:30AM. The S9 displayed the info correctly for the first couple of weeks and then it was locked with the display only showing the data for t...

S9 Autoset displaying inacurate data
I have had my S9 Autoset only a few weeks and I noticed that the machine displays inacurate data on its display. I download the data to my computer and it is all correct but if I look at the machine's Sleep Report on its display it will show I only use the machine for an average of 1.8 hours a night...

Re: Finished first week of cpap
Hang in there! When I had my sleep study I had an AHI of 59 and they set me at 18 cm of water on a straight CPAP. I found this board and did research on what has helped others and applied what I could to myself. It does take time to lose the sleep debt you have accumulated and it will take time to f...
