Re: Trying the Mirage Liberty FF mask

I use the Mirage Liberty and like it enough to have stuck with it for almost a year. It sounds to me like you should try the smaller size pillows. They come in small, medium, and large, and the right size should fit comfortably inside your nares, just resting there enough for the outer layer to seal...

Re: starting this thing soon and very upset

You'll be okay. {{hug}} I agree with all posts above. I too look forward to "hooking up" every night and am amazed by how much better I feel all day every day than I have in many, many years. I did keep experimenting with masks until I found my perfect one and for me it's just exactly right.

Re: My failing career

I get annoyed from people around me that don't suffer from this and they think it's a big joke. ....but now I'm barely surviving because of this condition. I seriously might be homeless real soon and I have too much pride to ask family to have me move in with them. I'm not going to wear this life s...

"Well, despite the fact that there's a middle-aged woman with a vacuum cleaner attached to her face in my bed, I still don't hunt." Is that really what he says or is that what you visualize him saying ... it's all in your head. Remeber what Ted Nugent says ... women have it and men just gotta gotta...

Oh, Peggy, we are soooooooooo on the same page. I've been a "hosehead" since February, and things are only getting worse. At first, my husband's line/opinion was that he would rather have a wife with a mask than a dead wife. I appreciated that a lot and *things* were pretty much the same. I think we...

Sure; why not? Radiologists graduate from medical school with a full medical degree, then go on to additional years of study of radiology. Therefore they are "full doctors" perfectly capable of writing a prescription, making a diagnosis, rendering treatment, etc. I'm not up on state licensure guidel...

SingleMom, did you say that you had complained to your doctor? If not, that's what my next call would be. Surely if you tell your doc that it's not working, you were given an ill-fitting mask and no option, etc., he/she will help and make the necessary calls. Someone should correct me if I'm wrong, ...

Thanks, Norseman. I'm going to crank it up tonight, but am only cautiously optimistic -- I really, really don't like hot air. Moist, cool air -- that's the ticket.

Don't you feel like you're drowning? And does that make the air you're inhaling hotter?

Cindy I'm sending my thoughts and prayers your way. My father died of cancer in 1990 at the age of 57, and he so didn't want to leave. How wonderful that you're there for your mother and dealing with all those details so that she won't have to. Do remember to eat and sleep and take care of yourself ...

I like mine, very much. We haven't always been on the same page, but that's been quickly cured with a bit of communication. I couldn't ask for a more gracious, open-minded, helpful group of folks to be dealing with. I'm lucky to have them and I know it.

Hopefully it won't be as hard as you anticipate. After almost two months of cpap therapy on a regular M series, armed with knowledge from this place, I told my DME that I just wanted to know "if it was working" and "how I was doing". She had thought that the machine I had would give me that info, an...
