Re: Question about using Mack's Ear Plugs
Thanks for that link. I've searched on tons of links in the forum about the Quattro and leaking, and seen pictures of the putty at the top of the nose part, but didn't see the pictures of the "snake" part before. I'll try that tonight. You talked about keeping the putty clean. Do you actually wash i...

Question about using Mack's Ear Plugs
Can Mack's ear plugs be re-used? I got a new Quattro FFM and the leaks are giving me fits! I'm going to tape the elbow joint with teflon tape, but I was getting leaks popping up everywhere through the night. I'd fix one and a different one would pop up. So I bought some Mack's (kind of expensive-alm...

Re: New to all of this - would appreciate some help
Mark, I don't know of any natural remedies...maybe someone else will come on and give you some suggestions. Please encourage your wife to get tested though. There are many different types of masks, and some, like the nasal pillows are not remotely "mask-like." They don't cover up the nose, or mouth,...

Re: Mirage Quattro mask
I haven't bought one of these yet, but I plan to...Padacheek makes a padding for the quattro and she has a part to cushion the bridge of the nose that is supposed to work quite well. She is a member here so you might want to PM her for some info. In the meantime, you can try what I'm doing now...I p...

Re: Sore throat
What is your humidifier set at? The FFM dried my throat out more than the other masks. I need a higher humidifier setting with it. I am a mouth breather though.

hmmmmmm....looks like I've been had Oh well, live and learn. The mask does look clear, so hopefully it wasn't used too long. I won't buy from a new seller next time. Thanks everyone.

Re: Illegal?
There is a comparable argument that creeps up on animal-themed forums where some people will say it is illegal to give your own pets vaccines. It is not illegal to give your own pets vaccines, but it is illegal to give someone else's animals vaccines, as then "supposedly" you are doing what only a l...

Quattro FFM question
I just got a Quattro FFM from cpapauction which was supposed to be a never used, new in package mask. I was kind of surprised that it came in a blue zipper case, but wasn't in any kind of sealed (or unsealed) plastic bags. Is the way they come now, or do you think I got a used mask being resold as a...

Re: Should a nasal mask user have a full mask as a backup?
I've just ordered a backup FFM for exactly that reason. And just my luck, as soon as I did, I started to get the initial signs of an impending cold. I hope the mask arrives before the cold goes full bloom!

Re: Another respirons m series question
You have to be careful when just looking at the average leak rates, if you're not looking at all the data. My average leak numbers look okay...then when you see the graphs from the data card, you see that I have some times of really low leak rates, then some that are off the chart high. They happen ...

ractar28...I'm curious...Do you have a plan that only allows you to use their providers? Most plans have 2 levels of coverage: a higher one for network providers, and a lower rate for out of network providers. Why wouldn't your insurance cover it at a reduced rate under the out of network provider c...

Echo,
I don't know about Firefox, but if you're using IE, you can just put your cursor over the topic name, the whole thing should be highlighted, and then you can just type in any name you want to use for that topic. Then hit "add" and you're good to go.

I really liked the first link you listed. It gives an easy to understand explanation of the condition, symptoms, and complications. I know lots of folks who might benefit from seeing that link. Thanks for sharing it.

Re: My wife unplugged me
What kind of mask do you have? My sister loved her nasal pillows, but her husband had a hard time sleeping because he said it was too noisy, so she wears a full face mask because it's quieter for him, even though it's not quite as comfortable for her. He would NEVER have unplugged her machine while ...
