I'm honestly not trying to convert you, or change what you put in your humidifier, I just want you to know that you don't *have* to use distilled water...

I don't think I've ever told anybody not to use distilled... just that they don't have to... like all the people that are wagging bottles of water around through airports... or going to car service places in england to get 'battery water' for their cpaps... just use tap water, rinse it with vinegar when you get home... Stop freaking out about it, you were lied to...

That's my crusade :)

Resmed tanks sold in North America have a Distilled Water Only instruction embossed on the humidifier tank. European tanks no not.

i wonder if that's due to the difference in water or difference in consumers?
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

The reasons are multi-faceted:
  • Distilled water is very common in some countries, less so in others.
  • Tap water varies in mineral content in different areas.
  • A lot of misinformation regarding the role of distilled water. Many keep erroneously propagating the myth it is medically necessary, instead of a cleaning convenance.
  • Refusal of many people to just try things for themselves.
  • palerider needs to step up his crusade game.

Probably best that you don't..

However, that was water to go *into* batteries.

Although it could dissolve the lime buildup in the HH!

I soak my infected footsies, then drink the rest. (lots of nutrients in the toe crud).
Want a lick before I toss it out. Be sure to lick between my toes!
