What do these numbers mean?

Post by mfbower » Sat Nov 22, 2008 2:52 pm

Hi, folks,

I finally got my new machine today and I was so excited, I took a nap

I received a Resmed S8 Elite II off the auction site. My settings are:

Minimum CPAP Pressure: 8.0 (I assume this is the starting ramp pressure)
Maximum: 10.0 (this is what my old machine was set to)
Mask: Optilife Pillow Mask

Here are the results:

Used: 2.02 hours
Leaks: .12L/s
AHI: 16.2
AI: .9
HI: 15.3

I've never had this details so could someone tell me what these mean? I realize that one time use isn't really signficant but I just don't know what they actually mean.

Thank you so much. This forum is great.

It's good that you now have a data capable machine but instead of napping you should have been doing a forum search or reading the Collective Wisdom.
I think the AHI is a bit high but if you search you will see that others say your machine records HI's on the high side.

Keep a journal and note how you feel.
