Re: Recall with sevear apena. Fear of sleeping
Hi, I had exactly the same fear as soon as I heard about the recall. My journey was this: . Got my first VPAP for central sleep apnea (ResMed VPAP Adapt SV) in 2011 . After some months (if I recall correctly) of adjusting to it, finally had the effects of real sleep change my life for the better . L...

Re: New Machine For Central Sleep Apnea
Well.
UPS just showed up at my door with my new machine.
Kudos to secondwindcpap for sending it overnight with no shipping charge!
It appears they set it up according to my Dr's prescription as well.

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
I have not yet read every message in this thread, so I apologize if this was mentioned already: My doctor told me today that there is an estimated 0.3% of the recalled machines that actually have the issue. His recommendation was since I have never used an ozone or other cleaning device and have had...

Re: New Machine For Central Sleep Apnea
https://www.secondwindcpap.com/Open_Box.html They show 2 available. Please note that they call the AirCurve 10 ASV...."ResMed S10 VPAP ASV" I have no idea why they did that but they did. Showing price of 4199...new open box which usually means zero hours of use. You might call them...to confirm. I ...

Resmed Adapt SV 'Low Pressure Check Circuit' Alarm
Last night after learning of the recall on my current machine, I broke out the old Resmed Adapt SV. Seemed to work as well as it used to, but I got several 'Low Pressure Check Circuit' alarms. I'm thinking this may have been from mask leak? I cannot find my old manual, or so far, a good one online (...

Re: New Machine For Central Sleep Apnea
cpapdirect.com lists new on their website for $2900 but warranty not mentioned, I could not get through on the phone, sent an email. I'm not optimistic about that one. h...but if they don't have one and it maybe a while before they get one then it's not so good of a price is it? Exactly!! I f...

Re: New Machine For Central Sleep Apnea
Thank you both LSAT and Pugsy. They (second wind) have new ones with 2 year warranty for $4199 and a used one with 48 hours, but only 6 mos warranty for $2999. The very friendly person I spoke with there is holding them both until have my prescription in hand next week. I'm leaning towards the longe...

Re: New Machine For Central Sleep Apnea
Pretty much the only brand manufacturers of the ASV model line is ResMed and Respironics. The other cpap manufacturers don't really go into the specialty end machines like ASV. With Respironics recall right now....the ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV is probably your only option but IMHO...it's the best opti...

Re: New Jersey DMEs
Using your insurance??? If so you first need to get a list from your insurance provider of the DMEs in your area that they work with or have in network contracts with. While I don't know of any "good" ones in your area...even if I did they would be useless if you are using your insurance and they h...

New Machine For Central Sleep Apnea
Hi,
I need to get a new machine for CSA.
I have an appointment with my Dr next week.
From another post, it looks like ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV is what I should get. Does that sound right? Are there others I should consider?
Thanks for any expertise and insights!

Re: Phillips / Philips Respironics recent recall notice discussion thread
Wow. I just learned about this recall from a NY Times article. I've been using Respironics BiPAP AutoSV for 7 or 8 years. This machine has been working extremely well, I have consistency low AHI readings and wake up rested every day. On the rare occasions I don't use it, I feel terrible. It's small ...

Re: “Emergency”Mask Purchase
Thanks, didn’t think to check Amazon.
I’m usually so careful about bringing what I need. For 10 years or so now.
But, I know, sleeping with no mask is not sleeping. Really Hope I find something!

“Emergency”Mask Purchase
Hi,
I’m away from home for the long weekend. Brought my vpap machine and mask, but no cushion. D’oh!!
Could I possibly have any luck to buy one in-person this weekend?
I’m on the north fork of Long Island, NY. Plan to call “Lewins” in the morning.
Any other recommendations?
Thanks!!
