Re: A question about resmed s9

You didn't make clear which S9 model.
Reasons for machine stop: any chance that the hose wasn't fully twisted into the box, and came loose with some tugging? or no juice at the wall?
Has anybody seen a Troubleshooting Guide from ResMed?

Re: Question about AHI=0 on Resmed S9 Autoset and Software

Last night is the first night my machine says everything = 0, ie AI, AHI etc. OK, I am green with envy if you can say: full night good sleep, no events, no sleep fragmentation, great day after. If not, then a few checks may help: - was the SD card in the machine; if you forgot, like I do sometimes,...

Re: Centrals on S9 ?

During my sleep study, I didn't have any central apneas or obstructive apneas. I only had hypopneas. Though, when using the Autoset, I seem to be getting some centrals, which usually account for most of my AI... Maybe the following qns and comments can help: - are you comparing home CPAP against yo...

Re: What Temperature/Humidifier Settings Do You Use?

Here is one web page with pictures of both ResMed S9 hoses: http://1800cpap.com/resmed-s9-and-h5i-climateline-cpap-tubing.aspx - Climateline: grey plastic ends partly orange; like idamtnboy says, the orange knob at box end activates the climate control circuit; grey heater wires spirals all the way ...

Re: opinions of oximeter report

my first study from my oximeter http://s1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee456/evan_louis/?action=view¤t=measurement1Evan.jpg I see clusters of events similar to my oximetry report: fluctuations in the %O2 coinciding with pulse rate increase. Does you oximeter software allow you to zoom in and sho...

Re: Help with Resistance setting

I have a Respironics Bipap Pro System One and it has "resistance control" setting. I am sorry that as ResMed user I don't have a specific answer for Respironics equipment. But I find it significant to see the term RESISTANCE being used. For an engineering type working with fluid systems (or electri...

Re: ResMed / ResScan interpretation challenge

If you have a RAMP time set on your machine you might want to try disabling it and going straight to the minimum set titration level, in case the lower treatment pressure during the ramp is creating some of the events you are observing. That's a good comment. My 2 charts above start off at a pressu...

It may matter to some. Should one trust your post at a time when you should be on CPAP?

Re: ResMed / ResScan interpretation challenge

does your final phase go in & out of consciousness, like my Sleep Onset? Between clearly defined sleep and being awake and conscious I see a transition phase. Here's the flow from a typical sleep to wake transition. Both going to sleep and waking up is pretty much just like a light switch for me, e...

Re: ResMed / ResScan interpretation challenge

Thanks for the comments above. For me this isn't just idle musing: I hope that the discussion leads to some insight. Hi Bill, how can CPAPs detect that you're in autonomous sleep breathing (or test sleep architecture) if it lacks the sensors to do that? My PSG studies found that I was spending a lot...

Re: ResMed / ResScan interpretation challenge

All xPAP machines are designed to work while you are in a state of autonomous sleep breathing Hi Bill, I do have some understanding of the nervous system, in particular I can distinguish between: - Central Nervous System: which includes voluntary control of movement - Peripheral Nervous System, whi...

Re: My first data download

The key problem you have: no image cut-and-paste into your forum post (like in email), rather embed a hyperlink in this text to an image file you saved in your own web site. Once you have that solved: 1. brute force way in ResScan: use the OS to save the screen contents in some HTML-compatible compr...

ResMed / ResScan interpretation challenge

Question to those of you savvy with interpreting your data on your PC: have you ever tried the tests below as a learning exercise? Rather than interpreting what the various created curves mean, I thought I'd perform a sanity check and purposely create a few "disturbances". Using either the FX Nasal ...

Re: Unusual ResScan Obstructive Pattern

The doctor and sleep group got the sleep data from my S9 Elite... They confirmed the patterns were central and the Cheyne-Stokes issues (not a difficult confirmation based on the flow). They set me up to re-take a sleep test (tomorrow) to see how the ResMed VPAP™ Adapt SV machine might better handl...
