Introduction for me

Post by jenJeni » Wed Mar 23, 2011 2:32 pm

Introducing myself as I just am becoming a member, glad to be in! I glimpse ahead to partcipating and have study a good deal so far, so hello!

I've been involved in some other forums and have identified this site to have substantially more effective content, so it helps make sense to eventually post!

BTW where is the option to change the time zone for my account? It's kind of weird having the time like 5 hours off lol I always am by my phone but not by my computer, so it would be very helpful for me. Amazing how even a trainer needs so many electronics now!

Welcome, jenJeni!

Take a moment to register as a user here; it's free, it allows you to set your preferences, send and receive private messages, list your equipment, and much more.

Once you've signed up, you can adjust the time zone in the User Control Panel under Board Preferences, Global Settings.

Cheers,
Jess

You all are nicer than I am. I doubt the time zone really matters.

Hello finally now joining, glad to be in! I'm Jennifer and I am inspired by my near death experience, I'm a fan of operating and being healthful

I've been involved for a while and have discovered this spot to be significantly superior subject material, so it tends to make sense to ultimately become an active member!

PS, how do I change the time zone for my account? It's kind of weird having the time like 5 hours off lol I always am by my phone but not by my computer, even a dietician requires so much to keep up to date!

It may matter to some. Should one trust your post at a time when you should be on CPAP?

My hat's off to you Pugsy....I was just thinking that it was an awfully generic post that said nothing when I got to yours. Glad I'm not the only suspicious one!

I always find it odd that people want to spam like that.....can't figure out what the benefit is.

Weezy

Hey, I actually had a good night for a change last night.

3 nights ago had one dog in bed and one cat. Dog is terrified of cat. Cat wanted to play. Not a good thing to be trampled all night by dog.

2 nights ago. Dog and 2 cats in bed. Cats left dog alone but wanted to play with my toes all night and thought it was a lot of fun to jump on my head.

Last night. Dog and 3 cats in side. 3 cats entertained themselves left me and the dog alone. Good night's sleep for a change.
That is how I happened to spot this same person posting this stuff. I was alert for a change.

I don't know what to call posts like this. Not technically spam I suppose but these types never register and I often wonder if they are just kids playing around. I see them all the time. Often other members sometimes remove them or in the case of this one, I might remove multiples of same thing since that obviously qualifies as spam.

Now the post early this morning talking about checking their hard core video links I did remove. Before anyone yells about it, whomever posted it didn't even include the hard core porn links... Geez, go to all the trouble and not even post a link.
Normally, I just let posts like this one fade off the front page but since others posted I thought I would jump in.

Oh Weezy, I see you posted just now. I have no idea what the thrill is for this stuff. I would think a person has better things to do but then I am old woman who needs the cpap machine..

I would bet anything that the users in question have URL's in their profiles they are hoping people will click on. I've written a blog for the past few years, and the sheer number of "commenters" who are actually spammers is mind-boggling. They use generic messages in the hopes that they will make them past the automated spam filters. In my case, I moderate comments, and so they don't get through =)

Talon, most of these that I see don't have a profile as they never registered and no links in posts either. This forum allows posts from non members so they never formally register and thus no profile. They just come back under another sn and post same old stuff. Sometimes I see links in the post itself. Yesterday I saw one selling various shoes.. A while back something about Asian call girls. Now sometimes I have seen some formally register and they sneak their links in their signatures. I zap those too.

For new members, after I think it is 90 days, you will see a report spam button and can use it. It will ask "are you sure" then it will remove what you report as spam.

It is - interestingly - the result of all those "work at home" scams. That's what you do, post spam to blogs and forums. Some days, I want to pull the plug on the internet.
