Standard Water Tub of H5i Heated Humidifier Now Comes Apart

Post by StevenXXXX » Thu Feb 02, 2012 5:41 pm

The older "Standard Water Tub" in the H5i Heated Humidifier used to be made in 1 piece & could not be taken apart for cleaning.

There was a You Tube video that showed you how you could "force" it open, but it took some doing.

The "Standard Water Tub" in the H5i Heated Humidifier now comes apart into 2 pieces for easier cleaning.

The "optional" "Cleanable Water Tub" always did come apart into 3 pieces for easier cleaning. It could also be placed in the dishwasher.

Even though the "Standard Water Tub" does now come apart for easier cleaning, it is still made of lesser quality materials & should NOT ever be placed in the dishwasher.

This is good to know for those who get the cheapo tub and can't afford the better one.
I still do not understand why the GOOD tub isn't covered by BCBSNE.
Apparently, 'clean' is not medically necessary.

Ive put the cheap one in the dishwasher several times, with my mask. They come out sparkling clean and lemon fresh.
I never would have made it without this forum.

I ordered my H5i Heated Humidifier with the cleanable tub.
It is a different ResMed Item No. than the H5i with the cheapo tub.
When you do it this way, you do not also get the cheapo tub - but I didn't care.
But you also do not have to pay any extra.
The DME provider said that they buy them both for the same price.

Do you know the part numbers for the two tubs so I can order the washable one?

I got my cleanable 3 piece tub from the host about 1 1/2 years ago. Still working fine. I saved the 1 piece for emegrencies if something happens to the cleanable one and there is a delay in reordering. DME seemed not to want to have one on hand, so I got it from the CPAP.com. It certainly is a good investement for keeping the cost of health care down since it does not need replacement semiannually or annually.

newname....the part number for the cleanable tub is 36800 and the part number for the regular tub is 36802. They both have the same HCPCS code of A7046. Hope this helps.

I have a box for the a "replacement" H5I cleanable and it has the 36800 number and the 802 part number is snapped on the disposable that came with the S9. The quality difference makes me wonder why the even bother with the disposable.

My main concern with the disposable is the is how fast mold can grow on these things. After 12 hours there starts to be a slick film on them. I wonder if they picked a better plating, that wouldn't happen but there is a lot of air that flows over the water and the water will absorb spores and it happens to be about the best temperature for some of them to start growing.

Where exactly is the part number stamped on the disposable that came with the S9.
I canNOT find a part number stamped on the newest disposable water tub that now comes apart.

On the disposable, Its on the side of the of the metal tray. If you have it where you can read the "MAX" and "remove tub to fill", you should see it. It has a date and time, ref 36802 and another 6 digit number.

My cleanable tub did not have those numbers on them at all.

Well, I guess they took the Number off of the newest disposable water tub.
