Re: bed wedge?
I looked into this at one time. From what I read, the most effective is a large wedge that goes under the mattress , and which are quite expensive. The smaller, cheaper, ones that go on top slip down.

Re: How often will I need to replace parts for mask & CPAP
How funny--I've never thought to wash my hose cover, let alone twice a week. Why does it get so dirty, Dave? Also, I find that the water chamber does get a bit slimy if left without washing too long.

Re: How often will I need to replace parts for mask & CPAP
Rosepetal: I was very careful and diligent about cleaning all parts for the first few months. After that -- I stopped being paranoid and now--not so much. I wipe down the nasal pillows every few days; I replace the filter every month, and do a good soap-and-water (or vinegar and water) cleaning of t...

Re: Mask prescription
At my annual appt with my pulmonologist/sleep doc, I always ask for a paper scrip for cpap mask of my choice. Just in case. I had occasion to use it this week and uploaded it to the purchase site for an entire new mask. However, they said it takes a while to verify the prescription, so they would be...

Re: Really need recs for new mask
I usually order from Amazon as it's much cheaper, but that's good to know. And wow, that's a cool one, although I'm very sensitive to adhesive, so probably not for me.

Re: Help for sore nostrils
I use Burt's Bee's lipbalm every night on my lips before bed, and just extend it below my nostrils if I feel I need a little extra soothing.

UPDATED: Really need recs for new mask
Hi guys! Long time no see. I've been using my CPAP for several years now with minimal problems. My doc says my results are "perfect." Yes, it can be done! However, I've become frustrated with my Swift FX nano nasal pillow mask and am looking for recommendations. It's getting to be supremely annoying...

Re: Emergency DIY head gear
Very sensible; maybe I'll do that. This is the first time in the 2 years I've been using it that I've traveled, though. Back to Mexico next year, I hope!

LOL, Bertha -- no duct tape -- I like my hair. (And that Beatles quote is one of my favorites!)
Thinking about it, the terry cloth things might have been hair scrunchies, but regardless, it worked.

Re: Emergency DIY head gear
It was pretty comfortable; although with only one part, it wasn't as secure as a double strap. Still, it was awesome.

Emergency DIY head gear
Hi, guys-- it's been a while, but I thought I'd share this tidbit. I recently went on vacation to Mexico, and carefully packed up my cpap (Resmed Airsense 10). I had a new nasal pillow, so I put that in there, only to discover on my arrival that I had forgotten to switch it out in my head gear. So, ...
