It looks like a nasal mask cushion to me but I could be missing something. I wonder how long it will take for this to come to fruition?

I went to their website and it looks like just nasal mask and maybe pillows, but I didn't see full face masks addressed yet. Interesting, if you able to use the app to picture your face and then send it for a mask.

That's AWESOME! Funny, I was thinking about 3D printing and custom masks for the future right as I was drifting off to sleep last night--in connection to my quest to find a mask that works with me. I bet tons of cpap users would love the option of having something custom fitted to their unique facial features.

The picture looks similar to the new Dream Wear mask. Anyway, it was just shown as an example. This may be in our future.

I was thinking of asking hubby to scan a frame and alter the stl so it will use the existing cushion,
---but make it conform to MY face. And print it in an awesome color plastic.
Finally make his Rostok MaxV2 pay for itself!
Encouraging his habit need not be a sacrifice.

Hi 49er- I just went to their website (http://www.metamason.com/) and read through the article/ watched the video at the end. My impression is that they are already making these masks; I sent them a message and asked if they are already in production, and what the process is for getting one. I also asked what the cost is, and whether or not they plan to expand into full or total face masks in the future. I'll keep everybody posted on their response. This is very cool! Thanks for the info, PR

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Has anyone heard anything about the potential cost of the first 3D printed masks like Metamason?

It looks like they may be on the market early 2017.

I've heard that they're going to be significantly more expensive than existing masks. There's always a premium with new technology. Personally, I think it will be worth it. I've been wanting to see 3D printed masks for years.

I think the most likely applications will be replacement parts or even modified frames for existing cushions.

This is very cool. This will change the CPAP mask industry.

For what the brick and mortar DME's want to charge for mask it might be cheaper to just buy a 3D printer for your self. LOL

Exactly. However, the less expensive printers require a lot of fine tuning.
If you want "plug and play", then you get into some serious currency.
Rostok Max V2 retails at $1300; Dimension-type printers can cost several times more.
With enough expertise, you can get by on the cheap--otherwise, headaches aplenty.
