Machine Noise still driving us insane

Post by AHI88 » Wed Jan 09, 2019 12:19 am

Hi there, me again, still troubled by machine noise, this is a recording my wife took while I was sleeping?

Is it normal ? The machine is only a month old (however the machine has been replaced before)

Please list to the video sound and let me know if this is normal.

The noise you hear is every inhalation?

Seriously?

I had to turn the volume all the way up on the headphones to hear anything besides *MY* breathing while listening to that.

Nobody ever said a cpap was silent, it *IS* moving air, you know.

If that bothers you, probably the only thing you'll be happy with is putting the machine in a box with sound deadening foam.

Find an old respironics tank machine, whoooshy whooshy.

I did not hear anything. My husband's first resmed made a lot of noise. Found out after a few months it had a bad blower and the Distributer replaced it and now only thing I hear is my husband's breathing in and out. Try ear plugs

Any chance you could try a different mask?

Try using a box fan on low for a little white noise. It really helps drown out the normal breathing sounds. I can't sleep without one.

Began XPAP May 2016. Autoset Pressure min. 8 / max 15. Ramp off. ERP set at 2. No humidity. Sleepyhead software installed and being looked at daily, though only beginning to understand the data.

That’s mildly annoying. Does it get quieter after a few minutes? Mine does after about 10-15 min. Have you tried using a fan, white noise machine, and/or earplugs? All of the above have helped me a lot in the past.

You could try sleeping at a truck stop a couple nights...all the engine noise, doors slamming and guys peeing alongside trucks nicely masks any noises a CPAP makes...

For most people insane is harder to come by, and more serious. Jim

Mine doesn't sound anywhere near that loud. My wife concurs - it's super loud. Neither one of us can really hear mine at all.

Probably because you don't have your phone stuck right up against the intake.

Try it, you'll likely be able to hear yours too.
