Have a cold

Hi everyone - I have a cold - been 2 nights already. First night my pap just didn't work coz of blocked nostrils. My normally effective nose spray worked last night for about an hour then I woke up and took mask off as it just didn't work past the blocked nostrils and also felt weird with my sore th...

Size matters - but which size?

Hi everyone - I've been on the nasal pillow for a few nights now and it's been driving me nuts because it keeps on leaking from the top end. I called the nurse at the sleep clinic and she said I might need a bigger or smaller size (mine are medium). How's that for a scientific answer? I suppose my n...

Re: Switching to nasal pillow

Thanks - no idea why they said that about 10cm pressure then. What's so annoying is that my CPAP machine doesn't give me data and so I can't check how much air I'm leaking in the night and how good a sleep I'm getting. When I asked the doctor she said they used to give patients machines with data bu...

Re: Give me your poor, tired, nasal pillows...

Oh so you wash the nasal pillow once a week? I just switched to this from mask, which I was told to wash once a month. Washing that often doesn't make them go mushy faster?

Switching to nasal pillow

Hi everyone, The nose mask gave me some nasty sores on the bridge of my nose so the clinic gave me a nasal pillow (Mirage Swift II) which I tried for the first time last night. Feels much less cumbersome than the mask but will have to adjust straps tonight as it easily leaked a few times during the ...

Re: My first week - new sensations!

Yay indeed! Thanks for the encouragement guys. I've been in this community a week and it's been an enormous help to get through these first days. I feel all I do is take take take but hope one day I'll be able to give give give back to other novices. Signing off before I start sounding like a Hallma...

My first week - new sensations!

I've been a week on CPAP. I had 2 bad nights and 2 good nights (where I only wake up once) and 2 nights on the weekend I drank wine before I slept and they were good nights but I feel that doesn't count because of the wine - like I cheated Last night was a good night (woke up once only to go pee) an...

Does it work? https://www.cpap.com/productpage/Nasal-Soft-CPAP-Cushion.html?src=atg Meanwhile, can anyone recommend a cream or something for the sores on my n...

A DUH moment

Last night (night 5 since I got my CPAP) was terrible compared with previous nights. I could feel a leak of air hitting my left eye and I was thinking ' how is this possible with a brand new mask??' I kept fiddling with the mask and the straps and getting more and more frustrated. Would fall asleep ...
