Re: AHI and new machine
I recently had a knee replacement and am on tramadol, gabapentin, and meloxican and also have gotten a new resmed Aircurve 10 vauto. My AHI has went from under 3 to in the 20's. I have no mask leak and am wondering if the meds are affecting the AHI that much. Any help would be appreciated. If the me...

Re: Macs and Sleepyhead
lliann, I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with SH on your mac. In theory, SleepyHead 1.0.0-beta-2 ought to run just fine on your Mac 10.12.6 machine. I think you are the first person to report problems. Screenshots would be useful. Imgur is no harder to use than photobucket. Just set up an ac...

Re: UARS
You don't need an ASV to treat UARS. That is not the opinion of Dr Krakow, and I thought he was pretty well renowned... ===== logical fallacy ASV is intended for CA and related problems but it is good for QOL which insurance does not count at all they would have you suffer although technically trea...

Re: Newbie User
I'm brand new to this forum and two weeks into my sleep apnea mask. I have read through a lot of the posts - I am so happy to have found this group. I started with the nasal mask Airfit Nasal 20(?) and have to say I felt so much better on day 1. I can't really believe how much different I am during...

Re: ResCan access
You can get a copy of ResScan (the ResMed software) over at http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/ If you are not a member over at apneaboard, you will need to register since the instructions for getting ResScan is in the Private, Members only area. It's free to register. If you have trouble finding the ...

Re: AHI has doubled
Pugsy, Thanks for the summary. Given the history of aerophagia and a need for EPAP in the teens, the OP is going to have some hard choices to make in trying to balance out the needed pressure on the one hand with the aerophagia on the other. You are right: It was a stupid decision on Resmed's part t...

jedimark needs to debug his code not xp Jedimark did all this for free...and while sick and while having his own personal issues mucking up his life. He made the code open source...feel free to fix it yourself. The few bugs aren't the end of the world and it's clearly stated that it is Beta softwar...

Re: UARS
I would be interested in hearing any benefits to ASV over other devices - no matter the disorder. To answer your question, it helps to understand that ASV was designed with the goal of treating central sleep apnea and complex sleep apnea in mind. And hence it helps to understand what the problem in...

You don't need an ASV to treat UARS. That is not the opinion of Dr Krakow, and I thought he was pretty well renowned... Much as I respect Dr. Krakow's writing on insomnia, I tend to agree with the majority of sleep docs who think he's pretty far out there on a limb thinking that everyone needs an A...

Re: UARS
My UARS is not congestion related. The only time I have any congestion is when I'm ill - no allergies or sinus problems. xxyzx is confused. UARS is NEVER caused by simple congestion. What is CA? A CA is a central apnea . A central apnea occurs when you stop breathing, but the airway is NOT compromi...

Re: UARS
UARs has hypops they count in the AHi index to decide if you need treatment they lower your spo2 and can be as bad as short apneas when the hypops are longer No. In UARS, the respiratory related events that matter are RERAs--- respiratory effort related arousals rather than hypopneas or apneas. A t...
