Re: Do you ever feel lack of blood flow in brain when waking?

It sounds like you're waking up after/in REM (your dream sleep) and possibly having some sleep apnea still. Therefore your oxygen levels are low when you wake up. in all the maniacal ravings, it's easy to miss that the OP has never been diagnosed as having, nor is being treated for, apnea. Ah. My p...

obstruction occurs while still awake?

Sometimes when I'm trying to fall a sleep but still awake in bed I will feel an obstruction occur near back of my throat for a second or two. * Is this common? * Anyway to figure out what is collapsing? i.e. tongue, uvula, tonsils ect. (I can confirm that the front of my tongue has not moved but no...

Re: HELP!

I've left a message for my doctor saying how many clear airway apneas I've had over the past 3 days. 72 in 8hour night, 64 in 7 hour night, and 42 in a 5 hour night. I've got the waking up sick thin down now, raising my bed helped tremendously. But now im beginning to get frequent headaches which i...

What was explained poorly when you began CPAP/BiPAP?

Interested to know this. I gather there are many things that were poorly explained (masks, settings, humidifier) seeing as this forum is a godsend for many newcomers. What's something in particular though you wish was explained better? What would have helped? It's always distressing when I see a pat...

Re: New Type of CPAP Machine...better than ASV??

Thanks that was what I was looking for: Resmed iVAPS (intelligent Volume-Assured Pressure Support) targets respiratory insufficiency disorders such as neuromuscular disease, COPD, obesity hypoventilation. So iVAPS appears to be Resmed's answer to Respironics AVAPS (Average Volume-Assured Pressure S...

Re: Number of nights needed to evaluate a new sleep regime

That's some pretty detailed stuff. Been a while since I did statistics in college

Are you feeling better when you do something different? Are you feeling worse? Could that, simply, be the answer?

I think we over analyze this stuff.

Re: Sleep ASV titration done on different maching

Sorry I was so vague about the numbers. The Sleep Center sent the Rx to Apria and I don't have all the number on the RX. It does sound like the Doctor reading the tracing wanted to just change it from 10 to 7 and he referred it to a pressure setting of 7 cmH20 on the report. I'm asking if that woul...
